It's now three days from the Naga tournament. I haven't been able to focus on anything else for the past few days.
After school is over my pop came and picked me and and took me to his auto shop.
When I couldn't even do a simple oil change. He took me to the side to talk to me
My pop said, " Jesse what's on your mind you can't seem to do anything."
I looked at my pop and said," This tournament is the first step to showing you and everyone else that I can be a fighter. I'm just nervous I will mess up and prove everyone who doubted me right."
He said," This isn't the same Jesse that puts himself in the hospital fighting and the next day goes right back in for more. This isn't the hard headed doofus who I know can be a fighter. "
When my pop said that I don't quite know what happened all I do know is that I fowt a burden leave my shoulders and I felt happy to hear that my pop actually believed I could do it.
After talking to me I later went back to work and that ended my day.
It was now two days from the tournament me and the rest of the competitors were in the academy doing our final examinations and trainings sessions.
As I waited in line I kept thinking of what my pop had said trying to keep calm. After the examinations Jerome was waiting for me in the main room.
He said, " Well well well you ready for this shorty?"
I looked at him and said, "You know I'm only three inches shorter then you right? "
We both laughed at that, and I said, " Yes I'm ready as I'll ever be. I'll do what I have to too make sure I prove myself."
After talking for a few minutes on different moves I could use to get my opponent down we went to try a few out.
We spent four hours training. Then I was called to the front for me ride home.
When I got home I was excited to hear my parents were going to see me fight. What came next ruined that thought.
My mom had been called in extra hours to work in the hospital and my dad would not be able to go because of a bunch of meetings.
After that disappointed night was over and the next day was here I got my gear ready for the bus that was coming to pick me up to take me too Atlant for the tournament.
As I road up to Atlanta I talked to a few of the others and looked at the giant skyscrapers as we drove by.
I could hear the crowd of people and the yelling of the other academy's as we came closer to the dome.
This was it. This was going to be the first major step to showing I was a fighter.
