comforting sleep (Zed x Fred fluff fanfic)

you'll be okay

Zed and Fred were huddled up on the bed together in a fluffy blanket and wore their pyjamas, Zed had his head on Fred's shoulders and clinged to his arm.

They were watching a horror film on Zeds laptop as it was a request by Fred cause it was October, they decided on a movie that neither has watched before, Fred leaned a bit closer to the screen in anticipation.

It was silent and there was no sight of the monster, the character was in the kitchen wandering around, a loud echo emitted making Zed flinch a bit and the creature was right behind the character, they were pounced on and was clawed and ripped apart.

“Woah aw man, I thought they would have lived.” Fred whispered

“Y-yeah.” Zed chuckled.

The creature began to melt and detransformed into an ordinary human, they dropped to the ground and sobbed at their fallen friends that they killed off.

The credits rolled and Fred closed the laptop. Fred yawned and removed the blanket off of him "I'm gonna brush my teeth before bed, you?" Fred walked and stopped at the doorframe.

Zed covers his body in the blanket and shook his head “Already brushed.” He smiled meekly. Fred nodded and felt a tad concerned.

He left to go to the bathroom.

Zed was left alone in the dark room with the exceptions of some lights still being on, he dropped on the bed and curled up on his side and closed his eyes.

Fred came back and saw his boyfriend fast asleep, he walked over and carefully slid into bed, he wrapped his arms around Zed and nuzzled close to his chest.

Fred was about to close his eyes but blinked them open when he felt Zeds leg kicking, Zed clenched his fists and began to whimper, Fred looked at him frightened and nudged him awake.

Zed gasped and brushed his fringe back, revealing his eyes were shut tight, Fred held Zeds face.

Fred softly whispered “Hey, what happened?”

Zed opened his eyes “N-nothing, just a bad dream.”

“Wanna tell me about it?” Fred brushed Zeds shaggy hair gently, he shook his head and buried his head close to Fred's chest, Zed sighed “It's stupid.”

“I doubt it.”

Zed looked up at the curly blonde, Fred smiled and Zed couldn't help but smile back with fondness.

“Can we just stay like this for a while?” Zed nuzzled and listened to Fred's heartbeat.

“Of course.” Fred kissed him on the forehead and cuddled him closer. “Just so you know, I love you.”

Zed chuckled “I know, I love you too dude.”

They cuddled in the bed for a while until they could go back to sleep.
