*Ring* *Ring*

I woke up to my phone's alarm blaring at 6:40 am. Sitting up in bed, I looked around at the clothes that were strewn across my room. I sighed, knowing that I would get yelled at by Mom sooner or later.

I trudged to my bathroom and got in the shower. My mango shampoo filled the air. It was going to be another normal day at school, walking through the hallways with my incredibly pretty best friend. Like literally, she had guys dropping at her feet wherever she walked. I just kinda trailed behind. Oh well, at least my grades were decent. I couldn't wait to get out of high school and escape to college where there would be more freedom. But for now, I was stuck. At least I had Melanie.

I wrapped myself in a towel and put on my outfit. It was getting hotter, the weather changing from winter to spring. I put on a pair of light wash jeans that were a little distressed, and a reddish/maroon-ish tee. I paired outfit with my white converse and my backpack.

"Hey Mom," I said when I got to the kitchen. I was greeted with my favorite breakfast. Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. I nearly drooled as I sat down.

"Hey honey, here's your favorite breakfast. I have to get ready for work, so have fun at school!" She kissed me on the cheek and walked upstairs.

After the delicious waffle was in my stomach, I brushed my teeth, grabbed my backpack, and walked to my car. I loved my car. It was my baby. A blue SMART that I named Charlie. Don't ask why. I just did.

Anyways, I arrived at school at 7:35, 10 minutes before school started. I parked in my normal parking space and walked to meet Melanie, my best friend (the incredibly pretty one) in our spot under this big tree. She walked over a couple minutes later, squealing like a pig. Not really, because she could make anything look gorgeous.

"Guess what???" She looked like she was going to scream with joy any minute.

"What?" I asked.

"Rumor says that there's a new guy coming to our school today! And they say he's hot!" She half-screamed, catching the attention of people around us.

Great, I thought. Another guy to fall head over heels over Melanie. I wasn't jealous, it was just kinda annoying having guys come up to her all the time when I was trying to talk to her.

"Melanie, you know I have no interest in finding a boyfriend. I just want to finish high school and get out of here." I said in a dull tone.

"Whatever. It'll be nice to have someone new at this school, though." She frowned, as if she was deep in thought.

The warning bell sounded just then, and everyone started rushing to class.

"Bye, Mel, I'll see you at lunch." I screamed before I got pushed by the sea of people.
