Regulus isn't sure how it happened.
He's never been great at doing normal, adult things, like washing dishes or doing the laundry, but he always tries.
Growing up it was Kreacher who did all of the chores around the house, making sure everyone and everything was clean, but when Regulus moved out, he was all on his own.
Of course, he begged Kreacher to come with him, but he couldn't because of the way house elves work (idk just go with it).
So, when Regulus was on his own, he didn't know how to do...anything really.
He was just going to wash his clothes. That's it. They had been covered in blood because he had just casually murdered someone on the way home, as he does everyday.
He threw the clothes in the washer with some hand soap and pressed the start button, before going to eat his lunch.
When he started to hear loud rumbling noises, he paused his sandwich making to go make sure the washing machine was okay.
It wasn't.
There was soup all over the floor, covering the laundry room in bubbles and making it very hard to see.
Regulus closed his eyes and felt his way through the bubbles, trying to locate the washing machine.
It was a complete accident, but he ended up slipping on the soap and falling right into the washing machine, making it in on the spin cycle.
He went around and around and around, soap and water filling his lungs as he did, until it was nearly impossible to breathe.
Suddenly, Regulus was overcome with the sensation of drowning as he tried to exhale, only releasing a few bubbles instead.
He watched, while spinning, as the bubbles hit the ceiling with a loud pop.
It was then, while the bubbles popped, that he knew this was the end.
He'd never see his brother again, he'd never get to lick that spot on James' leg, he'd never see Remus and the Sweatshirt Givers live.
He was dying in the washing machine.
Maybe it was some sort of payback for all the people he's killed, but he never cared about any of them because he look so hot and sexy while murdering them.
Regulus is always hot and sexy.
Even while dying, covered in soap and some of the man he just killed's blood.
Slowly his brain starts thinking of what to do in his last minutes, before coming up with the perfect thing to do.
He'd sing with his bubble-filled mouth.
"Toss your dirty shoes in my washing machine heart. Baby, bang it up inside," He started to sing, allowing more bubbles into his mouth, "I'm not wearing my usual lipstick, I thought maybe we would kiss tonight," He thinks Mitski would love to know that, in his last minutes, he sang Washing Machine Heart, "Baby will you kiss me already and–,"
He died, as tears rolled down his cheeks because man, that song is sad.
