Chapter 1

Y/N pov

I was just heading out from performing a surgery repairing the bicuspid valve in a 53 year old patient. So as I was scrubbing my hand, Colin approached me. We were roommates in college and have been inseparable since.

"I need your help." He said as I was drying my hands.

"What did you do now?" I asked him as he held his hand over his heart.

"I am hurt that you think so little of me." He said feigning hurt. "I have a date with this hot teacher but she will only go out with me if I bring a date for her friend."

"Why me?" I asked him with a groan.

"It's been a while since you and Peyton broke up and you show no signs of ever getting in a relationship." He told me matter of factly. "And we're bros."

"Don't say that. Please don't say that." I told him quietly.

"Come on. Please!!" He begged me. "I'll get on my knees." He said as I started to walk away. I started to see everyone's questioning stares as I walked past the only turned around briefly to see Colin following me while on his knees. "Please Y/N, I've been wanting to go out with this girl since college and she has finally agreed if I bring someone for her friend."

"Fine." I told him as I ran my hand over my face. "You're paying for the three of us." I told him and he just jumped up and hugged me wrapping both his arms and legs. "I do sometimes wonder why we're friends?" I told him as he remained latched onto me.

"Because you love me." He whispered as he tightened his grip around me. 

"Please get off." I told him as he just jumped down feigning hurt.

"I thought I meant more to you." He gasped with fake hurt. "So please be ready by 7:30pm." He told me as he walked off. I shook my head at him as I made my way to check on my other patients getting myself geared up for tonight.

Lizzie's pov

I was sat in my classroom, marking the kids  history papers as my best friend Scarlett came in through the door. I watched as she came and sat on the end of my desk as she looked at me expectantly. We met when I applied for this job after finishing college and she took me under her wing. 

"We have a date tonight." She stated with a smirk.

"I'm sorry Scar, you're beautiful and all but you are just not my type." I smirked at her making her giggle and shake her head. 

"No, as much as you would be lucky to have this." She motioned to herself. "It's with this guy who I met in college before he went off to Med school. He asked me out and I told him as long as he brings a date for you." 

"Seriously Scar. I don't want to date anyone right now." I told her as she shook her head.

"It's been a year since you and Robbie broke up, thank god for that." She told me. "He is a surgeon, he is sweet and funny. I'm not sure about hot but you never know." She told me. 

"No." I said as I placed the papers in my bag to take home. 

"Please Lizzie. I need my best friend with me." She said as she held her hands in front of her. 

"If it is a fat old man, I'm leaving." I told her as she gave me a wide smile. 

"Thank you." She said as she walked to my classroom door. "I'll be at yours for 6pm." She told me with a smile as she left the room. Maybe this will be good for me. A new guy, maybe we could even just be friends. 

Y/N pov

I was in my room as Colin came walking in tying his tie. I looked at his as I couldn't decided what to wear. He gave me a questioning look before he went inside my closet and started to raid my clothes.
