Annabeth was at his side, clutching his arm painfully tight, almost desperately. Nico was arguing wildly towards his—their uncle, Zeus. The rest of the Seven are somewhere near him. The event was a blur to him.
Some Olympians were sympathetic, while others were enraged. Some drama queens they are. Words were thrown around; ungrateful, selfish, wildcard, reckless, immature. They all seemed to be aimed towards him.
Percy could barely get out a word before a great light blocked his view, turning the Olympians into mere outlines and his friends into dissipating figures. He yelped with a jolt, but his body was unable to move—paralyzed.
Percy Jackson was confused.
One moment he's in Mount Olympus, having to bear the gods blasting his ears off with their arguing, and suddenly he's lost in a random city he's never seen before.
Curious, he took a glance down to see if anything was different about him—that one time Aphrodite put a few new accessories on him when he was sent back—and saw a hoodie with a familiar, orange shirt layered underneath it. The jeans' back pocket was hiding his pen-sword hybrid.
Buildings, with an anxious amount of glass surrounded him, like something of a modern era. Percy could barely make out the words on one of the taller buildings with something along the lines of, 'Metro...something'. He blinked, not bothering to take a second glance for the name.
Percy fit his hands into the jacket he was wearing, choosing to stroll along the sidewalk of the mysterious city. The city seemed to have a cheery atmosphere, with no sight of any potential mist manipulation. That was weird, are there just no gods here? Percy let that thought sink in for a bit.
There also seems to be a certain mascot everywhere. Percy's nose crinkled as he caught sight of the hero in spandex on some high-tech screen. The supposed 'man of steel' wore a funny-looking S symbol on his chest. A silent laugh escaped him.
As the glowing sun dimmed down, Percy snuck into an alleyway with barely any shadows present, Must suck for Nico if he was here, and began to vapor-travel.
The feeling was still new to him, as he had learned not too long ago on the newfound ability. His body felt more like water, with the exception of a solid figure of his body still present. The rush of water and ocean and his father's domain flew all around his body, making his mind more alert and energized. He felt the water in the air and reached out to it to travel somewhere else.
His body was nearly invisible with the water vapor in the air, but small particles of the liquid trailed behind him, just barely visible with the human eye. It was nearly overpowered, if not for the fact that he has a trail behind him. The water energized him easily after the rush of movement, but it wouldn't be long before the effects of traveling came up to him.
Percy was looking for a desolate place. Calm, yet nothing suspiciously quiet or too peaceful.
The sea god's son managed to end up near a telephone booth, deep within a dirty alleyway. The buildings around him weren't looking as good, as they looked seconds to collapsing. Though, there wasn't anything too troubling to him.
Walking out of the barren alleyway, he stumbled into a road which was filled with few people. As he walked past, he could hear bits and pieces from their conversations. Something along the lines of a 'Shazam' and a 'Captain Marvel'.
Percy's mind hummed silently, no recognition with the names whatsoever. What even is a 'shazam'?
Whatever, I'll find out sooner than later already.
A certain bulky, red and white (with specks of gold) hero blinked in confusion of the sudden presence of a familiar aura—one that felt too similar to the patrons the hero was granted communication and powers to.
Who was this guy?
