That Wonderful Moment

It was bright Saturday morning. I can feel the tickling touch of the summer wind as I was seated in the grasses of the most beautiful hill in my grandparents’ place.

Relaxing my mind from the stressful environment I had in the city.

Yes, it has been wonderful scenery when you are in the province. No worries, all you have to do is to listen to the incredible music brought to us by nature.

I took a deep breath and painted a smile on my face.

I wanted to cherish every minute when I was here.

But to my surprise a dog’s bark echoed the hill.

I opened my eyes quickly and searched for the dog.

I jumped from where I was comfortably seated when I saw a dog wiggling his tail and tongue out from his mouth in front of me!

“Shoo! Get away from me!” I shouted.

“He won’t hurt you” a very sweet voice of a boy from my back.

I froze and couldn’t move my body.

Then the boy moved to my front and gets the dog.

He then faced me. That was the most handsome face I have ever seen my entire life and the prettiest eyes a guy could have.

His blue sweet eyes.

I can feel millions of drums in my heart and cute butterflies on my tummy.

My eyes sparkled because of what I am seeing.

The soft wind blows my hair as we gaze each other’s eyes. That was the first time I felt that way. It was incredible. But sadly it did not last long.

“I should be leaving then and I’m sorry I lost track with my dog.”

He left me standing there. I just watched his back slowly fading away from my sight. Suddenly queries landed my playful mind. Why? Why did I have that feeling? How should I interpret it? I left myself with those questions since that day.

It has been six years. But still I can’t forget any single detail of that Saturday morning.

I was just sixteen years old when I love someone whom I don’t even know.

Yes! I am crazily in love with that guy whom I met on that hill. He is my first love, the guy who captured my heart in a summer day.

Now I am working as a professional photographer in a known company in the city, living simply and soundly with my camera lenses.

 “Click!”

I took a picture of butterfly sucking the sweet nectar of the gorgeous yellow flower.

I smiled, again it was a beautiful shot. Then I attempted to take a shot when my lens went to a figure of a tall guy standing near the benches.

Suddenly my heart skips a beat! I don’t know why I felt that. It feels like I’m excited and happy by seeing that wide back of the man.

I clicked the button and took a photo of it. I got 3 shots.

Then I moved closer to get another angle but unexpectedly he turned and faced me.

I almost dropped my camera

. I feel like a thief, taking someone’s picture without any permission.

And to my great shock, those eyes!

Exactly the same as what I have seen six years ago on that hill.

I am very much sure that he owns those beautiful eyes.

The man whom I love the most, the man who made my sleepless nights, and the man who stole my heart.

How happy am I to see him again.

I couldn’t explain the joy inside my longing heart. He smiled and walks towards my direction.

Every step he made makes it harder to breath. I wanted to take a photo of him while heading my way, but I could not do it.

My whole body is shaking.

“Hi!” he said.

“ Hey” I responded with a shaky voice.

“If I am not mistaken you are Ms. Sophie Chavez right?”

he knows my name!

“Y-yes I am”

"I’m Jarred and I wanted to give you this”

he took out something from his pocket.

It’s my Locket!

how did he got that! I have been looking for it. How come he has it?

“You dropped these six years ago…. on that hill and I have been searching for you just to give this, and finally I found you."

He said with a very sincere voice and in that very moment he held my hand and said

“and found my true love, hoping that you’ll accept it, this might be crazy but it’s the truth”

It was the best moment that ever happened to me. To be loved back by the person whom you love a long time ago. That moment when two people fell in love even if it’s too impossible for them to meet up. . . . .
