Chapter 4 - The Commotion

On the walk to his room, Ting glanced at the strange man. The man was dressed in all black, only his eyes and hands were out in the open. His eyes were a beautiful shade of grey and it was so bright that, Ting couldn't stop looking at his eyes. The man was also looking at Ting, but it was so secretive that Ting didn't notice. 

Upon arrival, Ting went to a hidden cabinet and open the second compartment. Ting reached in and pulled out the pendent. In his hand was a crystal white pendent, the pendent glowed a gentle hue. The peony flower carving sparkled under the moonlight; Ting looked at the pendent then looked at the man. 

"Is this the pendent that you are looking for?"

The man looked at the pendent and relied "yes, it is mine."

"Can you provide that his pendent is yours?"

"If you look at the pendent under the moonlight you can faintly see a Luo symbol next to the peony flower."

Ting walked towards the window and hold the pendent under the moonlight. Ting squinted his eyes and looked. After a few seconds, Ting look to the right of the flower and saw a Luo symbol.

"Alright, it seems that this is your pendent."

Ting walked toward the man and just as he was about to give the man the pendent, footsteps started to sound near the door. 

Suddenly the was a knock at the door. Ting looked up and answered, "Who is it?"

"Young master, the master wants your presences at the celebration."

"Tell him that I am busy right now."

"Young master, the master really needs you to be at the celebration."

The guard didn't want to tell the young master that the master actually demanded his presence because it would be too heart breaking. But it was a direct order from the master so no one can disobey it.

"Alright, I will be there in a few minutes."

"I am sorry young master; you have to come with me right now."

Realizing that he can't stay out of the celebration, Ting handed the pendent to the man and glanced at him. Then he opens the door and walked out. 

"Let's go."

Ting started to walk towards the main entrance where the celebration is being held. Upon arriving, Ting wanted to walk to a corner and just sit for the rest of the celebration, but nothing is going his way today. 

"Ting come over here."

Hua Ting looked over at his father who is calling out for him. Hua Ting stood up and walked over to his father and besides him, his so-called brother.

"Father, you called."

"Hua Ting look after your brother and remember he is the next heir, so you have to support him because you are one of his siblings"

"Father, I politely refuse. How do you expect me to support someone who has never once been in touch with the family business. Also, if you can excuse me, I don't feel so well."

Before Hua Lu Chen gave any reply, Hua Ting walked away.

Hua Ting looked over to his sister and tell her that he will excuse himself for the night. Walking back to his room Hua Ting feels terrible. He doesn't understand how everything changed just because the main character return. Maybe this could be the world's law.

While in his train of thought, Hua Ting arrived at his room. While walking in his room he realized that someone else is in his room. Hua Ting immediately look up and stared at the man's eyes. 

"Why are you still here, did you already got your pendent back?"

"Yeah, I did, but I got interested in the person who keep my pendent in such a secret location."

"What are you talking about?"

"You hid the pendent?

"Yes, because I thought that the pendent was important to whomever it belonged to."

"I see"

The man looked at Hua Ting and smiled.

"You are an interesting person."

The man opens the side door window and jumps out.

"By the way my name is Luo Jian."
