Beautiful In White

"Michelle I am telling you, that man of mines better not forget our 10th wedding anniversary. I have had to remind him the last 9 times" Sophia exclaimed, her friend Michelle, sitting across from her gave her a sympathetic look.  "I am sure he won't forget. He loves you to bits. I bet he has something cool planned" Sophia looked at her friend, she couldn't help but think she was hiding something. "I don't know but if I just get a bunch of flowers, again, I will be very unhappy and he will be getting well acquainted with the sofa!" the women laughed. Just then Shane walked in looking a little bewildered "Oh erm hi. I will be back in a minute babe" he shouted to Sophia as he ran upstairs. "Yeah, I better be going. I will call later" Michelle hugged her friend then left quickly. Sophia thought to herself "well that was very weird"
Ten minutes later she headed upstairs to see Shane but she stopped just outside their bedroom door when she heard him talking on his phone "No you can't tell her Michelle, she can't find out, not yet" he had paused to let Michelle answer when Sophia burst through the bedroom door "Can't tell me what Shane? Give me that phone NOW" she moved towards Shane grabbing the phone "I thought you were my friend, how could you? He is my husband?" she screamed down the phone. "Sophia, it's not what you think. Shane has a show on your anniversary, tomorrow. I'm sorry but I knew about it, well I would do since I work for the promotion team" Sophia ended the call and looked at Shane. "Is it true? You have a show on our 10th anniversary? How could you?" Shane looked at his heartbroken wife "It's an afternoon performance, it will be over by 6pm. I was going to take you out for a romantic meal and a moonlit stroll on the beach". Sophia felt an immense pang of guilt. "Oh Shane I am so sorry, I just thought...." she started crying again and when she felt her husband hug her she sobbed even more. "I love you and for once, I remembered our anniversary, how could I forget being married to you for 10 wonderful years" she smiled and Shane added "Come on, let's get some dinner then have an early night. Busy day tomorrow"

"Right Mrs Filan, I need to get going as I need to have a quick run through then finalise a few details before the show. Michelle said she will come over at 1pm to help you choose your outfit and get your hair and stuff done. Women, I will never understand ya" he chuckled as Sophia slapped him lightly on the arm. "You men are just as bad! Have a great show babe."  She gave him a gentle kiss before he left.  As she headed for the shower she couldn't help but think how lucky she was to have such an incredible husband.  Yes, it had been hard, he was Shane Filan after all but he was such a great man.  After her shower, she put on the underwear Shane had bought her for their anniversary. She had been surprised when he handed her the box from her favourite lingerie store but over the moon too.  She then put her dressing gown on the headed down to the kitchen for a quick bit to eat before Michelle arrived.

At exactly 1pm the door opened and in bounced Michelle with a massive grin on her face. Sophia looked at her friend with a suspicious look on her face "ok what gives? Why are you so hyper?!" Michelle looked at her best friend and said "I have been given orders by your husband. First, we will deal with your hair and makeup and then we will move on to the next stage" She grabbed Sophia's hand and pulled her up the stairs that led to her bedroom.  An hour later, Sophia looked in the mirror to see the results of the makeover. She was stunned when she saw what Michelle had done. Her hair was pinned up with some small sections hanging down and curled to frame her face.  Her makeup was natural but had a beautiful glow.
"Right, next I've to take you into the guest bedroom. I have the key." Sophia looked confused, "The key? That door has not been locked in the last 10 years. Michelle what is going on?" Michelle just grinned and took her friends hand as they walked to the next door. She was shaking, confused yet excited.  They entered the room and Sophia's jaw dropped.  Michelle handed her a note, it was from Shane. "Sophia, my wife, my lover, my best friend, my world. Today marks 10 incredible, beautiful years of marriage to a woman who has changed my life in so many ways. You have always made sure my dreams come true, well today it is my chance to make one of yours happen.  Everything will be revealed soon enough. I love you forever and always, eternally yours, Shane x" she looked at Michelle who was standing next to a black sheet that was hanging on the wardrobe door. She removed it and before her was a stunning white strapless dress that had a sweetheart neckline with sparkling diamante detailing all over the dress. Michelle then handed her a box, from Prada, and when she opened it she found a pair of stunning shoes that matched her dress perfectly. That is when it hit her, they were renewing their wedding vows. "Michelle, spill. Is he performing later? I assume we are renewing our wedding vows given the dress, shoes, hair and makeup?" "my lips are sealed. Now it's time to get you into the dress"

When she was ready, the girls headed downstairs and into the driveway where a beautiful Rolls Royce was waiting for them.  The driver opened the car door for them and once ready they set off. Sophia was still confused. It was only 4pm, Shane wouldn't be off stage until 6pm. Before she could ask Michelle where they were going the car pulled off the main road and she realised they were at the concert venue. The girls got out the car and Michelle's boss, Richard, was standing waiting for them. He looked handsome in a black Boss suit. "Sophia you look stunning sweetheart. Let's get you to where you need to be" He took her to the side of the stage. Shane turned to his right and saw her standing, he turned to the 60,000-strong crowd. "This is not a normal concert. Today is my 10th wedding anniversary" the crowd went mad at this announcement "As you may have noticed, I have been on stage singing for you for the last 2 hours, now you are going to witness my wife and I renew our wedding vows. Sophia has always wanted to stand on this stage and look out at the crowd, to see what I see. Well today that dream comes true and it falls on an even more special day" Shane had tears in his eyes. "Her family are in the first 5 rows, along with my family, and now could I ask the officiant to come on to the stage please" 
Sophia stood at the side of the stage shaking like a leaf, she could not believe he had done this, for her, on what was their special day. The music started "Beautiful in White", their wedding song, played as she walked towards Shane at centre stage. Over the next 15 minutes they renewed their vows in front of their friends, family and thousands of fans. "I now pronounce you husband and wife, again. You may kiss your wife" The crowd went mad, their families cried with joy.  "I love you Shane Filan, you have made my dreams come true in many ways. Now it's my turn to surprise you" Sophia whispered. Shane looked at her amused but curious "I want us to try for a baby" Shane burst into tears "Are you sure? I know you have been scared to since, well you know" she nodded "I get the feeling we will get the perfect ending we deserve"
