'Goodmorning Straight thoughts'

[Leeland's point of view]

My mother didn't wake me up though I awoke to a note beside my pulsating head. 

Dear Leeland, I hope you are feeling a little better.

I Love you so much, I'll be at work so if you need me just call

- Mother

I smiled out of pure glee, though I still had a pounding headache. I was still at home. Alone.

I get up and walk to the kitchen applying some butter to freshly cooked waffles and drizzled them with maple syrup. Topping it with a few blueberries and a big strawberry. My stomach growled at the sight. I salivated before taking the first bite. It was so good I almost forgot about my headache untill is stormed my skull again.

A car pulls into the driveway and abruptly honks out of pure fright. A squirrel landed on the windsheild wipers. I laugh then realize what will happen. When my mom is mad, often, everyone else in the house is also angry. 

Then the car pulled out. I glance at the drivers liscence and notice it's Avani's mothers car, and Forest is driving it. 'What was he doing at my house' I thought. I pinched myself to make sure it wasn't a dream. It wasn't. I try to get my mind off things by watching a few birds fly by in the window. I grab a book below me and start reading. "Puberty for boys" it's titled. Whatever I do I can't get away from boys.

I power on my phone and open Instagram. I scroll through to see "hot woman" as a form of conversion. I always hated being gay. I will never get the highschool feeling straight boys will get. 

I notice a red notification button and I tap the icon interesed. I was followed by @ForestSQ. This was Forest's main account. My eyes brightened. I was confuzed yet so overjoyed. Forest had followed me. ME. Now there was no way I could escape the thought of him.

I scroll through his Instagram seeing captions like, "just bros being bros" or "game night". The typical straight things. I slowly start to grin and picture myself with him. So gross yet so alluring. 'All he has done is bully me' I thought.

I turn off my phone and go back to my room staring at the ceiling fantasizing about Forest. My best friends brother. Ew.

I don't want to dissapoint Avani, maybe this is a huge prank or mistake, maybe... I catch myself overthinking. I rid the thought from my brain and go to the bathroom to take some Tylenol. Hopefully it stops my headache.

I am greeted at the door, after  being knocked at excessively, by Marley. He pushes me aside and runs up to Spots's cage and unlocks it. He gives him a big hug as Mom carries in the groceries. 

Spots then leaps from Marley's grip and  scratches one of the bags opened followed with a "Damn you dog".

She picks up the cans and fruits as I lean over and help her. She smiles at me.

"Thank you." she stated with a lowered head.

I nod my head in response and continue to pick up the groceries. After picking up the groceries she sets a pot on the stove.

She grabs out the ingredients.

"Your favorite."

She was right. Her chili was my favorite. It was made with enough love to make you smile at the taste. It was great.

I grin with a full mouth and then cover my face in disgust. Marley is naked jumping around like a dog. I cover my eyes with my hand that gripped the spoon and some chili splattered on my shirt. That was the least of my worries.

"It's just nature hun." Mom giggled

I give her a stare followed by me sticking my tongue out at now fully dressed Marley.

"I lost my appetite." I say reluctantly trying not to puke.

"Oh don't be dramatic." Mother replied.

I walk over to Spots, sleeping, and pet him as he opens an eye at me. I kiss him on his head and he rotates his head towards my hand. Wanting me to scratch him. I roll my eyes then scratch his stomach as he scrapes the carpet in satisfaction.

I walk outside to get a breath of fresh air and gaze at the stars. A shooting star appears into my gaze.

"I hope it wasn't and accident." I wished.
