Chapter One: The stranger in the mirror.

Ashlyn sat up in her bed, gasping for air.

When Ashlyn wasn't in the phantom realm, she would be constantly dreaming about aiden.

It was all she could ever think about.

Seeing one of the last things she loved die, and knowing it was her fault, haunted her.

She didn't even know who she was anymore.

She looked at her clock, 6:37.

She shakily stood up from her bed and stretched.

She sighed.

She walked to her closet, opening the door to it and freezing.

She had forgotten about that hoodie.

She stared at the hoodie in her closet, it had a huge smiley face across the front.

She grabbed it, and held it up to her face.

It still smelled like him.

It still smelled like that stupid expensive cologne that he used to wear.

Ashlyn took her old shirt off, and slipped the hoodie onto her body.

It felt warm.

She began to sob, bringing her knees to her chest and pulling the hoodie over her knees.

Ashlyn squeezed her eyes shut, pulling at her hair.

She heard little snapping noises. She opened her eyes and then She pulled her hands away from her head.

She stared at the small clumps of ginger hair that had come off of her head.

"....shit." she mumbled, standing up.

She walked out of her room and to the bathroom, looking in the mirror.

She was.. suprised.

She didn't look anything like how she remembered.

She looked so tired.

She had dark bags under her eyes, and her hair was messed up. Her eyes were squinted and filled with exhaustion.

She stared at the stranger she saw in the mirror.

She touched her face, feeling warm tears fall down her cheeks.

She felt something touching her hair. She looked around, but nothing was there.

She looked Back into the mirror and she saw a silhouette of a familiar face, just for a second.

Aiden.

He had been behind her, holding her hair.
