After catching Lucas up to speed about the recent events, everyone decided to head to the Wheeler's house to spend the night before going over the articles that Robin and Nancy found and to form some kind of plan.

In the basement, Max was sitting at the desk in the corner scribbling and writing something.

Ruby, Lucas and Dustin sat on the couch while Steve was pacing back and forth with an article in his hands.

"Okay, be honest. Uh..." The Harrington boy grumbled as he furrowed his brows trying to comprehend the words written on the pages before him.

"You guys understand any of this?" He looked up from the paper and onto the teens on the couch.

They all spoke at the same time.

"No." Lucas said softly, still staring at the thin newspaper cover he has in his hands.

"Yes." Ruby nodded.

"Pretty straightforward." Dustin stated, shrugging his shoulders.

"Oh, straightforward, really?" Steve turned to Dustin, clearly annoyed.

"Well, what's confusing to you?" Dustin asked genuinely. "So far, everyone Vecna has cursed has died, except for this old Victor Creel dude Nancy found."

Ruby interrupted, lifting her eyes from her own research.

"Victor Creel." She whispered to herself before raising her voice so they'll hear her. "He's the only known survivor."

Dustin nodded. "If anyone knows how to beat this curse, it's him."

"Yeah. That's assuming he was cursed, Henderson. Which we don't even know." Steve directed his words to Dustin before starting to mutter.

"How can Vecna have existed in the '50s? It doesn't make sense." He rubbed his temples softly.

"Far as we know, Eleven didn't create the Upside Down. She opened a gate to it. The Upside Down has probably been around for thousands of years. Millions. I wouldn't be surprised if it predated the dinosaurs." Dustin contemplated out loud.

"I wouldn't go as far as dinosaurs, Dustin." Ruby whispered.

"Dinosaurs? What are we-" Steve squinted his eyes in confusion and threw his hands around.

"Okay, okay." Lucas interrupted the older boy. "But what if a gate didn't exist in the '50s, how did Vecna get through?"

"Oh, and how's he getting through now?" Steve pointed his finger at him, joining the boy's former questions as well as the one he's asking.

Dustin rolled his eyes, knowing that Steve was partly asking those questions in hope that he hadn't thought about them before and had no way of answering.
