"Marty! Hey, wake up!"
"What? What's wrong?" Marty rubbed his eyes as he sat up.
"We made it. Dad says to start unpacking the car," Luke said as he pushed past his brother, holding his luggage.
Marty groaned as he stretched his arms out, swinging his stiff legs out of the car. He stroked his messy brown hair as he looked around.
They were parked in a driveway that belonged to a small house that was painted blue and had two windows. He looked around, seeing that every house had the exact design as theirs. "This is Destin?" he asked.
His dad appeared from the back of the car, looking exhausted and carrying three suitcases. "Yes! Welcome to Destin, Florida! Now get off your ass and help me with the bags!" He disappeared into the garage.
"God, what a dick," Marty muttered as he got onto his feet and went to the back of the car, picking up bags and bringing them into the garage and through the door. Inside was the kitchen, where his mother was unpacking the food.
"Hello, dear," she said with a smile as she placed the food in the refrigerator.
"I'm so tired... what time is it, Ma?" he asked, rubbing his eyes again.
"Half past one."
"What?"
"1:30. It's 1:30 in the morning."
"Why didn't you just say so? Jeez. Where's my room?" He walked over and popped a chocolate in his mouth.
His mother glared at him. "Go help your father, Martin. I don't need your sass today."
"Relax, Ma, I was just messing with you." He popped another chocolate in his mouth before she ripped the bag away.
"Those need to last the whole trip! Go help your father, now!" she demanded.
"Fine, fine, I'm going!" Marty replied, raising his hands in surrender as he walked back out the door. He went to the back and continued carrying bags until the car was empty.
The four of them met in the kitchen afterwards, exhausted.
"We'll unpack the luggage tomorrow. I'm tired and I need to sleep now," his father muttered as Ma rubbed his shoulders. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight!" Marty called out, walking to the closest room. Inside was a bunk bed. He tossed his bag into the bottom bunk and climbed to the top bunk. He closed his eyes, when the door opened and the light shined on his face.
"Hello, roomie!" Luke called out, pulling the bag from the bed. "Looks like we're bunkin'."
Marty sighed. "You've gotta be kidding me."
"Come on, big bro! It'll be fun! We can stay up late and talk about girls..."
"What are you ten? Go to sleep." Marty rolled over, now in a sour mood.
"Fine...," Luke replied, staying quiet.
Marty closed his eyes and accepted sleep...
THE NEXT MORNING
"Wake up!" Dad yelled, throwing a bag onto Marty. "We're going to the beach in 20 minutes."
Marty groaned groggily as he pulled out his phone. He had three messages. He swiped on them and looked at them.
The first was from his girlfriend, Molly, 8:02.
WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE GOING ON VACATION!!!
