And here comes the end of the book. :( The goodbye to Rose and Mickey . . . and hello to the unknown (at the time) bride.

***

"Last night, I had a dream."

***

"Rose."

Rose shot up in bed with a gasp, her hair everywhere, eyes wide.

***

"I heard two voices, and they were calling my name."

"Rose."

***

Rose sat with Pete, Jackie, and Mickey, fiddling with the hem of her nightgown. "I had a dream," she began, and as she explained, the three looked at each other and nodded.

***

"I told Mum and Dad and Mickey. Anyone else would think I was mad, but not those three. They believed it because they've met the Doctor and the Alchemist. So they listened to the dream."

***

"They were calling me," Rose continued. "And . . . "

***

"And that night, we packed up, got into dad's old Jeep, and off we went, just like the dream said. Followed the voice across the water. Kept on driving hundreds and hundred of miles, because they're calling."

"Rose," the Doctor urged.

"Rose," the Alchemist pleaded.

***

"Here I am at last. And this is the story of how I died."

***

Rose walked across the beach in Norway, looking around, when a shimmer caught her attention. She turned to see two hazy images of the Doctor and the Alchemist standing side by side, looking at her. Rose swallowed and walked over. "Where are you?" she asked.

"Inside the TARDIS," the Doctor answered. "There's one tiny little gap in the universe left, just about to close, and it takes a lot of power to send this projection. We're in orbit around a supernova."

The Alchemist smiled. "We're burning up a sun just to say goodbye."

Rose swallowed again. "You look like ghosts."

"Hold on," the Doctor held up a hand, using his sonic screwdriver on something. The Time Lords came into focus, and it was like they were really standing there. Rose closed the distance, holding up a hand, as if to brush the Alchemist's cheek. "Can I - ?"

"We're still just images," the Doctor shook his head. "No touch."

Rose looked at them. "Can't you come through properly?"
