Vanished

I looked out as far as the eye can see. The roads, neighbors houses, and everything else was gone! All except for the giant rainforest standing right in front of me wrapping all around the house as if a snake trying to suffocate it. I felt like I was suffocating as well. It’s fine. Everything is fine. It’s only a dream... you’ll wake up from it soon... I hope!  I was trying to make sense of all this when I noticed Mr. Meowgy was out on the golden path that went right down the middle of the rainforest.

“Mr. Meowgy! Come back!” I screamed trying to get his attention. I knew that if I wanted him back, I would have to go get him myself. I grabbed my umbrella and windbreaker that were hanging on the coatrack right inside the doorway as you walk into the house. I slammed the door shut behind me almost catching my finger in it. My heart was racing and pounding and I was afraid that my heart would leap out of my chest and run away!

“I’m coming Meow! Hold on!” I yelled to Mr. Meowgy.  It seemed like he was getting farther away when I was running as fast as I could. Even though he wasn’t moving, just sitting there really, it seemed like eternity until I looked behind me. My house was gone! It just vanished into thin air as if it was never there to begin with. The rainforest had taken it’s place now. I was running for what felt like hours. My feet hurt and all I could hear were monkeys, annoying chirping birds, and the rustling of bushes and tree tops above me. I am never going to get back home! I will never see my family again. I will never get Meow back! I was practically in tears just thinking about all the possibilities. No!  I thought.   I can still get them back and I almost already have Mr. Meowgy.

“It will be alright,” I told myself. Brush, Rustle, Whistle.

“What was that!?” I exclaimed. “Who’s there?”

“Meow... Meow...” came from the bushes. That was when I realized that Mr. Meowgy wasn’t in front of me anymore. I went over to look into the large, green, wet bush. I pulled away the leaves and saw Mr. Meowgy just staring at me with his big blue eyes and purring as if happy to see me.

“I am SO glad I found you!” I told him while picking him up and scratching behind his ears. We walked along the golden path about the size of a normal sidewalk. I could tell that the temperature had changed dramatically.
