🦇🐉As the sun sets and the moon ascends, Maya and Ximena find themselves beside the dormant fire pit. Opting to halt their journey for the night, Ximena attempts to ignite a fire, but frustration sets in. Groaning, she tosses the flint aside. Meanwhile, Maya, studying the map, suggests, "You could always try, ya know," lifting her hand and gesturing for Ximena to give it a shot at her new goddess abilities.
Ximena nonchalantly glanced at her gloved hand. "I've never tried doing it on command; it usually just happens," she explained, giving it a shot. Closing her eyes and focusing, her hand glowed with an orange aura, eliciting a tingling sensation. Suddenly, a spark ignited, and fire burst forth from the branches. Maya, amazed, applauded, "Ximena, you did it!"
Surprised, Ximena looked at her hand as the glow faded. "Huh, interesting..." She stood up, dusting off her armor. "I'll keep watch; you should get some sleep, Maya," she suggested, securing her sword. Hearing her name, Ximena turned to Maya. "...thank you, for joining me," Maya expressed gratefully.
Ximena offered a faint smile, saying, "Hey, what are friends for?" With that, she walked into the forest, seeking solitude. Maya's smile faded, and Chiapa, her feline companion, expressed concern. "I'm worried too, Chiapa, but Ximena can handle herself," Maya reassured, glancing at the map. "I think we're getting close to Luna Island." Exhausted, she succumbed to sleep beside Chiapa.
In the forest, a glowing purple tattooed hand emerged, snaking towards the map. The fingers grabbed it, dragging it over the fire, burning it. Startled by the flame, Maya awoke to the crisis. "No, no, no, no, no!" Chiapa retrieved the crumpled, burning map, and Maya frantically stamped it out. Surveying the damage, she noticed their supplies ablaze. "Our supplies! What are we gonna do? Ximena's gonna kill me."
Above the trees, Acat and Zatz observed Maya and Chiapa. Sombra trailed Ximena into the forest. Acat chuckled confidently, "That mocosa can't beat me." Zatz sighed, cautioning her, "Even for you, Acat, this is low." Her smirk faded, and Zatz questioned, "Do you really need to weaken her and Ximena before your fight?"
Acat dismissed it, replying, "No, it's just that sometimes a cat likes to play with her food, my handsome prince." She moved closer, cupping his chin. Zatz, standing up, gazed in the direction Ximena had gone, expressing concern, "This is not honorable." Acat, undeterred, whispered seductively, "That hasn't bothered you before," before kissing him.
An annoyed groan interrupted Acat and Zatz as Sombra expressed his frustration. "My gods, do you both always have to be sucking each other's faces off on every mission?" he muttered angrily. Ximena's return caught their attention, and Zatz, distancing himself from Acat, managed a small smile as Ximena approached.
