You were an only child who used to live with her mother. You had never met your father since he left you and your mother when you were born, not wanting a child and hating how unfit a state his wife had become. After the birth your mother raised you alone in a small cottage like home where you have lived your whole life. That was until your mother began getting ill..you were around the age of 9 when the sickness began. Your mother would constantly cough, sometimes even to the point of some blood. She became so unwell that she struggled to walk or move, she would stay in bed and you would look after her day in and night out. Soon you started doing everything around the house and had to supply for your mother. You managed to get a job, it didn't pay a lot but it was just enough to get by. You would buy food and collect water, sometimes having to hunt for food if running low on money. The sad thing was, you were only 12 when you had to start doing all of this, slowly having to do more and more as you grew up.

At the age of 17 your mother died in her sleep.. you were devastated but you knew it was only a matter of time. You were glad her suffering had finally ended, stuck in her bed, unable to help her child as she did all of the work, struggling to keep things running..
You buried her yourself, giving flowers to her grave on what would be her birthdays.

You were mistreated by the village you lived in, they called you a cursed child or an unlucky charm. Although you were beautiful people were still disgusted by you. The horrid nicknames came from your mothers death, since your mother got sick so soon after giving birth they blamed it on you for bringing sickness upon her, of course that wasn't true..right? You didn't want to think about it. Kids would make fun of you or try to use you..
They would bully you both physically AND mentally. They would throw mud at you, taunt you, laugh at you, yell at you, throw rocks at you, sometimes even try hit you, just whatever they could to show they hated you. It was working..or so it used to.
As you got older you learned to ignore them. You trained yourself in fighting and hunting and using weapons. You like to read so you would often go to a small book shop to borrow books, both educational and for fun. Luckily you and the librarian got along well, her name was Maria. You would often head back to your little cottage and read a bit about the book before closing it and getting your weapons ready for a hunt, you had to get some meat and berries for meal time later. You got adapted to using all types of different weapons, bow and arrow, sword, daggers, axes, spears, ect ect. You also studied herbs and plants so you could help avoid picking poisonous plants to eat.

One evening you went and collected some books from Maria after returning the old ones as usual.

Maria : 'thank you for returning the books y/n, I have a few more for you to check out'

You smiled, moving over to her little desk as she put the books onto it. There were three books. She went on to tell you about something called the school for good and evil, you gave her a confused look..

Maria : 'surely you've heard of it?'

Y/n : 'no? What is it?'

Maria went onto tell you about the story, you sat listening to her, interesting. Once she had finished you picked up the books.

Y/n : 'thank you Maria, I'll see you next week'

Maria : 'not a problem y/n, have a good day.'

Y/n : 'you aswell.'

You smiled as you walked off happily, carrying your books. You finished buying food and went back to your cottage, opening the door and putting the stuff away, then cooking food. You would make a lovely stew with the potatoes and carrots you made yourself, the rest of the vegetables and herbs you bought today along with the meat. You finished cooking and would sit down to eat. You finished eating and was reading when you heard something strange from outside.. you got up and held you book heading out of your little cottage. You looked around confused seeing nothing.. Then out of nowhere something snatched your leg, dragging you away.
You screamed and tried to grab onto something, holding onto your book tight. You kept failing to grab anything sturdy while being dragged at a fast pace, barely able to see anything as you flew past it all.

After a few moment you were let go of and were laying in an open space of land. You sat up and groaned as you looked around, then getting up, rubbing your back. You were definitely going to feel that at some point. You heard a loud screeching of a bird and before you could turn around you were swooped up into the air by a giant bird, it was huge and definitely looked nothing like a normal bird.
You screamed as it pulled you higher and higher up into the air, you looked around while breathing quickly. You slowly started to stop panicking as you looked at the view, it was gorgeous.

You soon saw two castles after a little while of flying. One was beautiful and elegant looking, very fancy while the other was covered in a thick black mist, it looked quite creepy..
