Welcome to Voidspace!
It is very calm here.
No entropy.
No air.
No time.
No color.
No temperature.
Voidspace just... IS.
There is one thing that exists here, however. This thing is of no size, as there is nothing to compare it to.
This thing is Mossy.
Another thing entered Voidspace. The naturally cool atmosphere of Voidspace contrasted with anything immediately outside it, making the new thing shiver a bit.
The new thing's name? Charlotte.
"How are you feeling, Mossy?" asked Charlotte. Mossy simply stared at the woman. She towered over him at what must've been his size and a half, carrying a small, black cat in her arms. Mossy simply scooted backwards, away from her imposing presence.
"It's okay not to remember," Charlotte comforted him. She gently placed the cat on the floor, and it made a beeline straight for Mossy. He didn't scoot away this time, letting the creature approach. It rubbed its head against his open hand, and a name popped in Mossy's head straight away.
"Pinto," He whispered.
"Come outside when you feel better, okay?" Asked Charlotte. "Your friends are waiting for you."
And with that, Charlotte left Voidspace.~~~
The passage to The Void slowly creaked open and Mossy stepped out, a thick layer of voidspace stuck tightly around his skin and clothes. He peeked around the corner to see his friends were over again.
Yippee.
Mossy began to go back downstairs, but Pinto sat on his foot.
"We should at least go say hi," Pinto reasoned.
Mossy shook his head.
Pinto nodded, and meowed very, very loudly. Everyone turned their heads to see their friend with a cat on his foot.
Snapdragon smiled wide, and immediately ran over to squeeze Mossy in a hug. Mossy gasped.
"GET OFF HIM!" Rosemary scolded. Mossy shivered.
"Shhhh..." Oregano nudged Rosemary, and spoke in a low tone. "Snapdragon."
"What?." Snapdragon asked. "OH."
One look at Mossy's face explained everything he needed to know, and he took a few steps back. "Sorry, Mossy."
"Yeah, sorry he's an idiot," Rosemary agreed.
"Okay, no, didn't you literally yell at him?" Snapdragon asked rhetorically.
"I yelled at YOU, SAPdragon."
Everyone looked at Rosemary. That joke was kind of bad. Well, Oregano chuckled at least, then walked over to Mossy and dapped him up.
"Come on you two, let's not argue," Charlotte stepped in with accidental rhymes, shuffling through her purse. She took a five dollar bill out, handing it to Oregano. "Go get some ice cream, okay? Stop by Parsley's while you're at it. He likes vanilla with sprinkles, right?"
Oregano nodded, pocketing the fiver.
"And take care of Mossy," Charlotte added in a lower tone.~~~
"I'm telling you, pigs are cuter," said Snapdragon.
"And I'm telling you that you've never seen a cow," Rosemary retorted.
"Guys, guys..." Oregano smirked. "Let me introduce you two to the chicken."
The three argued about it for a while on their way to Parsley's house, everyone's words overlapping eachother. After a while of this. mossy tugged Oregano's shirt, and pointed to a lost dog poster.
"Oh, I see," Oregano studied the dog. "Well, we're really talking about farm animals, Mossy..."
"A dog can be a farm animal!" Rosemary protested. Snapdragon disagreed.
"Eeeeeeeehhhh..." he said. "Let's see what Parsley thinks."
And with that, Rosemary knocked on the door. A few seconds later and Parsley had cracked it open to peep at his friends on the other side. All at once, the sounds of argument blasted into the outside world. Rosemary immediately took a few steps back, frightened by the comotion. Parsley closed the door, undid the chain, then slid himself out of the house.
"Sorry you guys," Parsley whispered. "My TV is up loud because my dad has hearing issues."
"Oh," Rosemary felt a sense of relief wash ove—
"PARSLEY!" Snapdragon interrupted my narration simply to say his name. "Are dogs a farm animal!?"
"Um... what? No... yes?"
Oregano sighed, "If only there was some sort of information guru we could ask all our burning questions to..."
Snapdragon looked around. "For example— where's Mossy?"
Parsley's eyes lit up at the mention of his old friend. "Mossy!? He's back!?"
Hearing how excited Parsley got must have encouraged Mossy a bit, because he came slinking from behind the corner. Parsley smiled and approached him, the two immediately hugging one another. Snapdragon couldn't help but feel a small semblance of jealousy. Oh boy, if that makes him jealous, just imagine how he felt when the two started speaking sign language with one another. He could only feel so bad about that however, since only Mossy and Parsley knew sign language.
"Mossy says you're going for ice cream," Parsley smiled. "I would love to come with!"
