Annie, a beautiful thirty five year old woman with bright blonde hair and unnaturally bright blue eyes laid there beside her husband Jack, a forty eight year old man with a chiseled handsome face and a body that resembled that of an olympic swimmer. She slept soundly until she heard the crash of something shattering on the floor just a few rooms away.

“Jack,” she whispered, “Jack there's someone in the house.”

“huh?” Jack said, confused and still half asleep.

“There,” Annie started before being interrupted by the sound of something else falling and shattering.

“There's someone in the house.” she said in a loud whisper, panicked by yet another sudden loud noise.

“It'll be okay. I'll go check.” Jack said, jumping out of bed quickly and grabbing the baseball bat that sat beside the nightstand. Annie sat there watching as Jack grabbed the flashlight from the nightstand and flicked it on.

“I'm gonna go check the rest of the house. Okay. If you hear anything that doesn't sound good just leave through the window and call the cops. Okay?” He looked at her and waited for an answer.

“Okay.” she said, getting out of the bed and reaching for her shoes which sat beside her side of the bed. Jack looked at the door knob and after a moment turned the knob as he did something else fell to the ground. It didn't shatter like all of the other things that had fallen; it sounded like metal, most likely a pan or pot. Jack jumped back startled by the sudden loud noise.

“Are you okay?” Annie asked worriedly.

“um… yeah, I'm fine. I'm gonna go check now.” he said, sounding like he was trying to hype himself up. Jack walked out of the door holding the flashlight in his left hand and the baseball bat in his right ready to swing at a moment's notice. He slowly walked towards where the noise had been made.

“I have a gun! come out where i can see you now. I will not hesitate to shoot!” he yelled, attempting to sound unafraid and intimidating, mostly succeeding. Jack listened intently, nothing, then after two and a half minutes he heard something skitter across the floor in the kitchen. jack slowly walked into the kitchen he aimed the flashlight around the room he quickly dropped it when his right leg was cut open by what felt like four razor sharp knives. he swung the baseball bat with both hands as the flashlight fell to the floor. he saw no one as he looked around jack quickly leaned over to pick up the flashlight as he did so a sharp pain in his left leg jack fell to the ground frantically reaching and grabbing the flash light.

“ahhh! fuck!” Jack screamed, tears and sweat flowing down his face because of the pain. He grabbed the flashlight and pointed it at his legs. His right leg had four distinct slashes on it all of which had a flood of blood pouring from it and long pieces of flesh dangling from it. His left leg had a completely different type of wound; it was a circular wound with six distinct puncture wounds on both sides of it; the wound reminded Jack of a picture of a shark bite he had once seen. The blood that came out followed the beat of Jack's heart gushing blood on every beat of his heart. Annie stood in front of the bedroom door shaking from all of the stress and fear of the situation and hearing Jack scream in pain made it ten times worse.

“j-… jack?” Annie said in a quiet shaky voice, “Jack, please. Come on, answer me.” She stood there and listened for any response. She listened for ten minutes then decided that she needed to help her husband.

“dont worry Jack,”  she whispered, “I'll save you. hopefully.” she turned the knob and yanked the door open quickly and ran into the kitchen where she had heard jacks scream of pain. She stood there too terrified to move at the sight of jack.

“oh… oh my… oh god. w-w-why?” she said, trying to comprehend what it was that she saw, crying loudly as she did. she tried to scream but nothing came out of her mouth but a muffled squeal she struggled to stand as her legs shook violently. she gasped for air, as her heart pumped like a drum being beat over and over again. she watched motionless except for her legs shaking violently and making no sound except for the quick labored breath. The flashlight laid on the floor shining a light on the pool of blood making it a dark shimmering red that had it not been the blood of another person Annie would think it was beautiful.

“jack? Oh… god.” Annie said mindlessly, too shocked and afraid to even truly understand what was happening. She looked mouth agape at a creature that couldn't be any taller than three and a half feet and looked like a shaved ape with pointy elf-like ears, pale almost translucent skin, two bright dark pink eyes, two freakishly muscular arms with human hands, legs that looked like they belonged on a well built deer with large hooves at the end, and a scaly reptile tail, beat down on Jack's face with its large fists until it was just a fine paste with shards of bone scattered through it. The horrible creature reached into the paste of blood, brain, bone and hair and took a large handful and stuffed it into its mouth which was full of sharp sixteen inch teeth that poked out of its bloated light yellow lips. The teeth protruded three inches from its lips even when its mouth was closed. The creature chewed the paste once then swallowed, grabbing more handfuls and doing the same thing over and over again until the paste was completely gone.

“no,” Annie whispered. The short pale beast looked at her then back at its meal beginning to beat on Jack's chest breaking bone and ripping muscle blood flowing from the battered body.

“no, get off of him!” she screamed, as she kicked the creature off of jack. kicking the creature felt like kicking a brick wall to Annie; it was only pushed a few inches off of Jack's body. it looked up at Annie, opened its mouth and screamed it had a woman's voice. Annie stepped back startled by the deafening scream and the fact that it sounded so much like that of a human's voice. it put its rear end in the air and its hands placed on the floor like a freakishly disturbing cat preparing to lunge at its prey. Annie turned around to try and run but the creature was lightning quick and lunged forward hitting Annie in the back knocking the breath out of her. Annie fell to the ground desperately trying to catch her breath.

“oh… uh, no… no.” she said, gasping loudly. Annie laid there on her back trying to turn around but as she tried the creature slammed his fist down onto her back. She heard a loud crack and pop sound and felt more pain than she had ever felt before then she felt nothing.

“Gahhh! Help! Ahh! Someone!” Annie screamed as tears spit and sweat flew everywhere. She laid there feeling nothing, unable to move her arms or legs. she laid there and cried as the pale beast raised its right arm and brought down its fist crushing her head. she saw nothing other than red then her sight was gone, nothing but an endless void of slowly moving shadows then she just ceased to exist she felt nothing saw nothing. The pale beast sat there on top of Annie, preparing to continue its meal.
