"Do you have to go?" Castiel whined as Dean woke up.
"Sorry Cas but they want me back in Iraq. This is my last tour. It's only six months." Dean tried to ease his husband's mind.
"But something could happen day one. I can't loose you" Castiel started to cry. Dean held Castiel in his arms tightly. Dean didn't want to be away from his love but he had to finish his service.
"Please don't go" Castiel whimpered. Dean tighten his grip as he started to cry as well. I can survive six months, Dean thought to himself. I lasted two years, I can do six months, Dean tried to convince himself.
Castiel kissed Dean with urgency and uncertainty. Dean held Castiel face and didn't want to let go.
"Winchester! Let's go" Dean's commanding officer yelled at him. Castiel hugged him one last time before letting him go again. Sam patted Castiel's back and tried to comfort him as he cried. Dean turned around and all you could see were red, puffy teary eyes and the look of regret on his face.
"I LOVE YOU!" Castiel yelled out which broke Dean's spirit and heart even more.
"I LOVE YOU TOO!" Dean cried out before the bus door closed.
Month 3
"Hello, are you Mr. Castiel Winchester?" the officer at the front door asked Castiel when he answered the door.
"No no noo!!! He can't be!! I just talked to him last week!! NOO!!! Don't you dare say" Castiel broke down and fell to the floor crying as he held onto the letter.
"What is it Cas?" Sam ran to the door and analyzed the scene. "Dean died?" Sam said in pure shock. His big brother was killed in battle and he wasn't coming back again.
"When these men and women go to serve our country they tend to write letters just in case something happened. Dean wanted me to personally give these to you." the officer handed Sam and Castiel each a letter.
-Cas
If you are reading this I'm dead. I'm sorry, I know you wanted a family. You can still have one. I never told you why I joined, I wanted to make money so we could start a family and didn't have to worry about the costs. I'm sorry, I know you didn't want me to go. Maybe I should have listened to you. Now, don't you cry, remember the good times. I know my favorite memories of us keep me going, like when you first kissed me, when I took you out to that fancy diner and we started a food fight and we got kicked out, then there's my favorite memory of all time, when we got married. I took your heart, so you took my name. What you are going to do now is smile, breath, help Sammy, move on with your life and most importantly, take care of yourself. I love you till death and beyond.
-Dean Winchester
Castiel broke down again and Sam had to guide him to his room.
"NOO!! HE CAN'T DIE!!" Castiel sobbed as he started to throw objects around the room. Castiel's depression turned into anger then back to depression. This was the only two sides of Castiel.
3 Months later...
"Hey Bitch? Feathery Ass?"
Sam and Castiel ran to the familiar voice. They both couldn't believe it. Castiel cried at the sight of Dean.
"What? I'm home. What did I miss?" Dean was confused.
"You died!! How the hell??" Castiel ran into Dean's arms.
"No, I'm fine...aw shit, Harry died but he had my tags cuz it fell earlier. That's how they id the dead people." Dean explained as he held Castiel tightly.
"Jerk!" Sammy smiled as he walked into a big hug.
"So, you want a family?" Castiel asked as he handed the letter to Dean.
"Of course! You want one. Plus i'm pretty sure we could be badass dad's"
