a/n: This is just a little something that randomly popped into my head when I was bored. I'm honestly the worst when it comes to chaptered stories but I really wanted to post this, even though it's just the first chapter and it might take me years to update...

I'm not good with angst so this will be a pretty light (and hopefully short) story with no major conflict (but we'll see how things turn out in the future)

I do hope it will keep you guys interested enough to wait for future updates (even if it takes a long time), and if not, that's okay, too~

"Mom, where did you put the box with my Playstation?" A young alpha boy around ten called loudly from the spacious but empty room. His little hands rummaged through the bunch of opened boxes scattered around him, keen eyes resembling those of a wolf scanning through the contents in search of the console.

The sound of utensils clinking reached the boy's ear and he turned toward the source of it only to see the tall, lean figure of his mother peeking out from behind the door leading to the kitchen.

"First unpack your stuff and cozy up in your new room, and after that, you can play your little games."

A groan left the young boy's lips. "But mom-"

"No buts, Choi Soobin. Get your butt moving and bring those boxes to your room. Your silly games can wait. It's not like you're good at them, anyway."

Soobin let out a dramatic gasp, clutching at his chest as though the words pierced right through his heart. How could his own mother call him out like that!

"Okay, rude!" He cried but eventually collected the boxes marked with his name into his arms and wobbled his way toward the stairs that led to his new room. He didn't forget to mutter complaints under his breath which earned him an amused chuckle from his mother.

Jeon Wonwoo, the one that little Soobin called 'mom', leaned against the door, arms crossed over his chest as he took a look around himself. Stacks of boxes filled the space that would hopefully turn into a living room soon, and brand-new furniture wrapped in plastic was scattered around, waiting to be put in place.

Wonwoo sighed, sensing a headache coming.

They'd just moved in this morning and there was already so much work to be done. The house was beautiful with an even more beautiful and well-kept garden but it might've been a little too big for a family of two. As a single parent, Wonwoo didn't need luxurious housing; a cozy little home for him and his baby boy was more than enough. But his parents insisted he buy a property in this particular area as it was- according to them- an ideal neighborhood for families and kids to grow up in. Quiet and rich with fauna and flora, a nearby middle and high school that had promising reviews and it was also close to Wonwoo's company, which was a big plus. He didn't even need to use the car to get to the City center.

A perfect place to live in, indeed.

What Wonwoo didn't understand was why his parents kept on insisting on buying such an unnecessarily big house and he was afraid to ask for their reason. Well, that wasn't entirely true. He kind of figured it out by now. It wasn't like it was a hard guess, anyway. They were probably wishing for him to find a life partner and expand his little family of two. A kind and loving alpha who would take place as Wonwoo's husband and Soobin's father.

Except after that one unfortunate event ten years ago when an alpha took advantage of Wonwoo's naivety and then bailed on him like a coward after stuffing him with a pup, Wonwoo had never looked for a potential mate ever since. The only time he let someone touch him intimately was during his heats and even then it was on his own terms.
