I missed you

Seaver hadn't been back to the BAU since she heard of Emily's death. She couldn't face it! Emily had been the only one to trust her, the only one who had given a damn when everyone else didn't, sure Rossi cared but only after Emily had reassured she would give a damn about the fuck ups. Its different now though, she had passed her exams and was now working alongside the Crimes Against Children unit, in the field and it was Rossi's birthday and she couldn't wait to see everyone again.

As the doors to the elevator opened, the first thing she saw was Emily's photo, on the wall of the fallen, and the memories of kindness and friendship came flooding back. Suddenly she was nervous again, but why? Maybe it was normal? She suddenly became aware of her surroundings, and realised she had walked towards Emily's photo and had been staring at it, lost in her thoughts.
"Ashley?"
She couldn't forget that voice anywhere, she thought she was hearing things, standing still she didn't move... Was she going crazy? Was she hearing things, it couldn't be! Maybe coming was a bad idea, she was having doubts about it and now they were confirmed. She obviously wasn't ready!
"Ashley, are you ignoring me?"
Seeing what Ashley had been staring at, Emily cursed, how could she have forgotten, the damn janitors still hadn't taken that stupid photo off of the wall.
"God damn it, they still haven't removed it. Seaver, turn around. It's me. Turn around, I'm real... I'm not dead! "
She turned slowly, hesitantly, she could not look panicked. She could not afford to let down her guard, Emily was dead. She had to be?
"E-Emily?"
"Honey it's me, I'm here. I'm so so sorry, I just got back, I thought you knew."
"Emily, you're alive? You're real?"
Ashley stared at Emily, she didn't know how to react, how was she supposed to? People don't die and come back to work months later, they just don't.
"E-Emily?"
Emily pulls her into a hug, she can't believe this was allowed to happen and damn did she miss Ashley!
"It's me honey, I'm here!"
Ashley begins to silently sob into Emily's chest
"I missed you so much!"
