Chapter 03 - As an adult

Things were going well up until the wife of her client had returned. The wife told off her husband for not calling the plumber and had instead called a young woman over. That woman was none other than Rio. The wife scold the husband for cheating and started to degrade Rio. 

"Hey, you should be lucky it's a handywoman in here and not a prostitute. I've literally come here to clean your house and now working to unblock your toilet. Your husband got too happy eating super spicy food." 

"Do you even have a plumber license to even go near our toilet?!"

"D-dear...." Because the husband was such a pushover, he couldn't defend Rio even if he wanted to.

"I do have a license. And you don't really need it to unblock a toilet. I'm not dealing with your pipes and I don't need to. And I can see your husband is not doing a good job of sorting this out himself otherwise you would have trust him to unblock it instead of calling a plumber." She didn't tell the angry housewife the part where her husband was recently laid off so he's looking for a job. The agreed price was cheaper than that of a plumber anyway so Rio was hired for the job.

Having no arguments against her wits, the wife thought of something else to show her up in front of her own husband, "Oh yeah? If you're THAT skilled, plunge the toilet without using tools from the toolbox!" She pointed at her toolbox.

"Sure." Rio saw a jacket she liked in the store earlier and she bought it. It came with a metal hanger. She twist the hanger until it's longer and no longer look like a hanger. She bent it and twist it in a way that it could force debris through the drain. Rio flushed the toilet once and she smiled seeing it all go down smoothly.

"Y-you cheated!"

"You told me not to use tools from the toolbox. You never said I can't use anything else.

The wife continued to scream offensive tirades at Rio because she's jealous that her husband was in the vicinity of another woman. Rio didn't care at all. She only cared about the money. She could put up with this woman because it's for the sake of money. She will do anything for money as long as it's legal. She counted her money in front of the screaming housewife. She's not intimidated one bit.

"Coming into my house to cause drama! How dare you!"

"Miss, your husband isn't even that great. I'd rather sleep with this slob who live in the same apartment building as me before I sleep with your husband. And that slob is lazy and didn't even bathe himself until recently."

"A-achoo!" Karino sneezed. "I wonder if Rio is talking about me?" 

"It can't be anything good if Lady Rio is talking about you behind your back." Kotarou said, eyes glued to the screen of Karino's TV.

"Hm. Nee-chan is probably saying how much of a slob this old man is." Today, Ruri was being watched over by Karino because Tamaru had something to do last second. Rio did not want to leave Ruri with Karino but Mizuki was not available tonight either so Rio had no choice but to leave Ruri here watching Tonosaman with Kotarou and Karino.

"I am not an old man!" Karino shouted. "Also, don't sit too close to the screen and turn the volume down a little. It's disturbing the neighbors."

Ruri got up and she sat next to Karino. "Old man, you need to clean up your mess."

"Be quiet! And I will! At some point..."

Back with Rio, she's on the way back and she saw Mizuki. Mizuki was crying.

"Mizuki?"

"Huh?" Mizuki quickly wiped her eyes with her forearm. "Rio-chan?"

"Who made you cry?"
