For the first time in for what seemed like years, it began to rain, really rain, not like the few brisk drizzles they've previously had. Not only was it pouring, it was a full moon. The guards normally would prepare for the rain to keep the water bender prisoners completely unaware that it was even raining, but not this time. The storm came out of no where leaving no time for them to prepare. As soon as the prisoners realized what was happening, the entire camp erupted into chaos. Kyosei immediately took control as if he had been expecting this to happen, shouting commands and instructions to other benders so they could all escape quicker. With Rozen by his side defending their group with large blasts of fire at the guards, they quickly made it out into the courtyard of the camps. Together the water benders used the pelting rain to freeze the guards into place and then to bust down the large main gate.

They ran as fast and as far as they could, disappearing into the surrounding forest to put as much distance as they could between them and the camps with only the full moon and bright stars to guide them. For the first time in 12 years Kyosei stood free, rain coming down all around him with his arms spread out wide, his head tossed back with a wide smile and looking up into the sky. That night, after making it as far as they could and the rain had stopped, they slept underneath the stars for the first time in years. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, a village not too far from them was under attack from a demon nine tailed fox.

From there, Rozen led the way back to her small shack in the woods. It took them only a few days of walking to make it back to where she had stashed a few clothes and a tiny amount of money, though they didn't stay in one place for very long out of fear of being captured again. As their travels continued, their relationship grew and almost a year later they welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. When Rozen had discovered her pregnancy, Kyosei was ecstatic and had insisted that it was going to be twins as they were extremely common in his tribe. But to their surprise she gave birth to only one baby. The baby was born with a full head of of thick, fluffy, half white and half black hair split right down the middle, and they later discovered one bright blue eye and one shining amber eye. She was exactly half of each parent combined so they gave her the name of Kyozen.

Traveling with their newborn wasn't exactly easy so they settled on the outskirts of an old-run down town, and happily made it into their own small paradise. They were always wary of their surroundings and cautious of the people they came in contact with, but continued to stay there until Kyozen was around three. Once she was a bit older, the three of them packed up and continued to travel. The family made their way back to the Land of Fire and Kyosei built them a nice cabin beside a beautiful river just in time for Kyozen's fourth birthday.

One day, as Kyozen sat and watched her parents doing their chores she started copying the motions her father was doing as he was bending water from the river so he could wash their clothes. At that moment, a tiny blip of water splashed out of the river and onto the pile of fresh dry clothes. Both her parents were shocked and thrilled! Kyosei lifted her up and spun her around as she erupted into a fit of giggles. However she was unable to do it again. For days she practiced and practiced but was unable to cause even a ripple in the water. From then on she practiced daily, every chance she got.

Weeks passed since she first bended but she still would stand with her father and copy his movements as her mother tended the fire they used to cook dinner. This time however as she made the movements to summon a wave of water, the flames in the fireplace grew. Rozen was dumbfounded, and called out for her daughter to do it again. The flames doubled in size as she raised her little arms over her head. Out of all the benders they had met this was the first time that they had seen anyone bend two elements, even if the splash of water had seemed like a fluke. And all at the young age of four. Kyozen was thrilled she could now copy her mother too! Her parents were shocked beyond belief. Although Kyozen had never met another person, her parents decided it was time to have a talk with her about hiding their abilities from other people, just in case for their safety.
