Hello! Sorry, there is A LOT of dialogue in this one but it seemed like the best way to present this part. Hope you enjoy it!
She responded in a shakey voice, "What? Y-you know what happened to him? H-he is alive!?"
Banner sighed, "For you to understand we need to have a long, long talk. But, I need to know that you can handle it." He then stood up and motioned for Adeline to follow him. Adeline stood up, "Where are we going?"
He responded, "You will see."
He opened the door to the office to reveal what seemed like something from a movie. A huge room that resembled a museum. It looked to be 3 stories high and was pure white with marble floors. There were people walking around in friend groups. Some were wearing uniforms, and others wearing pajamas. She followed her uncle through the room to a door that said, "Open, next time reserved in two hours" Adeline's uncle opened the door and waited for Adeline to walk in. She did, and he followed behind. This room was a plain white room, the ceilings were white and so were the floors. Next to the door was a keypad. Banner typed in some things as Adeline watched curiously. Then after he was done two chairs appeared in the middle of the room. Her uncle walked over to the chairs and sat in one and motioned for Adeline to sit in the other. She walked over and sat down suspiciously, "So why are we in here?"Banner: So no one hears us.
Adeline: Why can't anyone hear us?
Banner: Because I wanted us to have privacy.
Adeline: Soooo...
Banner: *sigh* You see, You, Me, Your father, and everyone here, we are uh different.
Adeline: Different how?
Banner: Let me just show you.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pen. "Here hold this." Adeline grabbed the pen and held it up. Banner continued, "Don't freak out okay," he raised his hand and snapped his fingers. The pen disintegrated. Adeline was shocked, "Wha-how-d-did, just what? Wait wait, so everyone here can disintegrate stuff?"
Banner: "Well um sure, upon many things."
Adeline: "Wait when you said you, my dad, and everyone here were different, you said I was different too.
Banner: "Yes, That so-called dream actually has an underlying meaning. everyone here has had the dream. some had it when they were toddlers or when they were your age.
Adeline: what did it mean?
Banner: The chest was like your brain, the smoke was the part of yourself that has been locked away, the power.
Adeline: if it was "power" why do I feel so weak?
Banner: Your body is not used to it. Also, everyone's dreams are different too though, in Some, it was never locked up. some simply touched the smoke and absorbed it through their hand.
Adeline: Why was my dream so much more forceful? I mean, in mine I literally suffocated.
Banner: Honestly I think it means you have to be here. maybe one day you will do something really important. either way, the universe was not leaving it up to fate. But, I would keep your dream to yourself so that people don't start rumors.
Adeline: Can we talk about my father now?
Banner: Yes, he is alive and well, if you want any more information you need to train and gain your strength. Once I say you are "good" enough I will tell you more about your father.
Adeline: Okay so how do I train?
Banner: Well Normally I would give you a normal trainer, but considering the fact, you are about as new as they get I will find you a personal trainer.
Adeline: I'm not trying to be picky or anything but I really don't want to be stuck with some 50-year-old lady.
Banner: You won't, trust me.
Adeline: Why should I trust you? about anything?
Banner: because you have good instincts. Now, how about we figure out sleeping arrangements?!
Adeline: Should we tell my mom about any of this? So you know, she will know I'm ok.
Banner: To be fair, do you think she will care?
Adeline: If I'm being honest, I don't think she will even notice I'm gone.
They kind of looked at each other in a way that no words needed to be said.
