Sorry I haven't updated in a few days, a fever caught up to me and I have just been utterly exhausted. Finals are coming up soon in school and I've been stressed out about them. But anyways, here y'all go. :)

The bell rang loudly throughout the school, as classroom doors swung open. Loud chatter filled the once empty hallways, as the sound of sneakers screeched against the hard, tiled floors.

Anxiety rushed throughout you as you made your way down the now crowded hallway. Your eyes are puffy and red, as visible bags rested beneath your red eyes.

Slightly sniffling, you wrap Billy's jacket tighter around you, as the soft fabric brushed and rubbed against your skin. A small f/c ribbon, the very one Billy had given you, was neatly tied into a strand of your hair. You hadn't gotten good sleep, ever since you received news that Billy was missing.

Even when you did close your eyes, you'd continuously have that same dream over and over again. And it was killing you. The look your dearest Billy gave you, his eyes filled with fear. It made you shudder.

You continued to walk down the hallway, with you barely being able to pick up your feet.

"Y/n?"

Your e/c eyes glanced up to see a smiling Bruce. However the smile on Bruce's face suddenly dispersed at the sight of your condition. His brows furrowed as his coal eyes flickered with worry.

"Y/n, are you alright?" He softly asked, stepping towards you.

"Y-yeah." You curtly responded, your voice slightly raspy.

"Y/n. You're not alright, what's wrong?" Bruce asked, brushing a strand of a h/c lock out of your face. You bit the inside of your mouth before taking a step back.

"Nothing."

Bruce's frown deepened as so did his worry. His coal eyes scanned you up and down. Your bags were visible, and you looked sick. Not being able to bare seeing you like this, Bruce gently, but firmly grabbed you by the wrist and dragged you away from the over baring crowd.

"Bruce-what are you doing?" You hissed, trying to pull yourself out of his grip. But no avail. You let out a frustrated sigh.

Bruce pulled you inside the janitors closet, shutting the door, keeping you two inside together. There was no light, except for the small glowing light that showed underneath the wooden door.

"Why are you-"

"Y/n, what's wrong? You can talk to me. You know that, right?" Bruce spoke, taking your hand gently into his. You looked down at his hands before biting the inside of your cheek.

"I can't." You spoke, pulling away. Bruce sighed, shaking his head.

"Y/n, I know you need someone to talk to. That's why I'm here." Bruce slowly spoke, his eyes meeting yours.

You bit harder inside your cheek, until you could taste something metallic.

"Why would you want to waste your time with my problems?"

"Because, you would've done the same for me. And I care deeply about you, Y/n."

Bruce takes your hands again, and this time, you don't pull away. You refused to make eye contact with Bruce, as you continued to look down at the slightly dirtied, stained floor.

"Y/n look at me."

Though hesitance took over you, after a few seconds, you build up the courage to look up as tears welled up in your eyes. Your eyes met with Bruce's soft ones as tears began slipping down your cheeks.

Sadness washed over Bruce's features as he brushed away your tears in a calm manner. "Shhhh. It's going to be okay."

"No it's not. First Griffin, now Billy?! I'm scared of losing you too Bruce." You sobbed as Bruce brought you into an embrace.

"Shhh. You won't lose me Y/n. I promise to never leave." Bruce whispered in your ear, as he rocked you back and forth in a calm, comforting manner.

He continued to let you cry, as he remained still, rubbing your back. Slowly, your cries began to disperse as only hiccups left you.

Bruce smiled softly, placing a small kiss on the top of your head. "You better keep that promise, Bruce." You whispered, wiping the rest of your tears away. "Or I'll come kill you myself."

Bruce let out a laugh, that filled your ears like music. He gently ruffled your hair, sending you a sweet smile.

"Anything for you Y/n." Bruce spoke in flirtatious manner, causing heat to blow up in your cheeks. You scoff, slightly pushing him away. This only caused him to laugh more.

"We should head to class now." You mumbled, feeling slightly embarrassed. Bruce's eyes slightly widened upon realizing.

"Oh yeah, we should probably do that, huh?" He chuckled, opening the door. He held the door open for you as you gave him a nod of appreciation.

"Anyways I'll see you later." Bruce spoke up, rubbing the back of his neck. You awkwardly smiled, looking down.

"Yeah."

Before you or even Bruce could say anything further, Bruce quickly swept down and gave you a peck on the lips before quickly walking away, leaving you there, stunned. Slowly, a smile placed itself on your lips as you brought up your fingers, gently placing it over your lips.

Snapping yourself out of thought, you wondered down the hallway. Your shoes making contact with the tiled floor, echoed throughout the abandoned hallway, as you made your way to science class.

Once you reached your needed destination, you let out a deep breath and opened the slightly heavy door. The door let out a small creak as many eyes landed in you. Your teacher let out a small smile.

"Nice of you to join us, Ms. L/n."

Your face heated up from embarrassment as you made your way towards your desk. Sliding your chair out and sitting down, Finney gave you a small smile.

"Hey Y/n." He whispered, slightly nudging you. You looked at him, giving him a smile.

"Hey." You whispered back.

"Where were you?"

"Oh, just needed to think some things over." You awkwardly chuckled, taking your science supplies out and placing them on the surface of the desk.

Finney nodded before slipping his soft hand into yours underneath the table.

"Just know that I'm always here for you."
