To many people, death is an unfathomable concept. One of too many ifs and buts, but to Creal death is a calm and sweet embrace. It brings relief and peace after unimaginable pain and suffering.
Creal has always felt a sense of comfort in death, from the passing of his brother to the death of his parents he never once cried. No grief ever overwhelmed him with sadness or anger. Creal has been called many things due to this.
Strong .
Brave.
Cold.
No one was truly able to describe who Creal was nor were they able to explain his behavior. All made assumptions of their own and lived with and shared them to those around them. Tales of his bravery, his strength, and the coldness in his eyes they saw oh so clearly with the purity of their own.
Yet none of the suffocating whispers or the words of encouragement ever affected him. He had grown long used to the scrutiny, the hate, and the overwhelming love and affection of strangers.
All Creal ever wanted was to stay as he was. His brother still smiled where he was. His mother still smelled as sweet and comforting as the bread she always baked him where he was. His father patiently talked and carefully explained away any questions he had where he was. Creal was not alone.
Creal did not need to be brave or strong or cold. He craved the comfortable embrace of death that was all so peaceful. So calm, he could live in that embrace for all of time. Creal did not want vengeance nor did he want to find solace in others.
He wanted a peacefulness that would be forever denied of him.
He longed for death.
He envied his brother.
He missed his mother and father dearly.
Creal wanted peace.
He wanted a peacefulness that would be forever denied of him.
He did not grieve because all of him grieved. He did not cry because there were no more tears. He was not strong, everything inside him was already broken. He was not brave, there was nothing for him to protect anymore.
Creal wanted peace.
He wanted a peacefulness that would be forever denied of him.
Death and loss did not break him.
It was love and life that killed him.
All Creal wanted was peace.
A peacefulness called death.
He wanted a peacefulness that would be forever denied of him.
