[Xiao may seem a little bit out of character, but take it or leave it lol]
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Hey.. are you feeling any better?" The blond asked. The raven haired boy who sat only inches away remained silent. "If you don't want to talk, I won't force you". Aether sat beside him and placed his hand on his. "But I hope you know, that I'll always.. be here for you" This silence lasted for what seemed like an eternity. "That's just it.. you won't always be here, one day— you're going to leave," Xiao hesitated. "And I may never be able to see you again". Aether paused for a brief moment. His brightening expression turned gloomy, and suddenly the atmosphere became even heavier; because what he said was true. "That's not all true.. you shouldn't say things like that—" And then Xiao caught him in a tightening embrace. He held on so tight— afraid to let him go. "Don't lie to me. Please". He believed that if he closed his eyes— just for a moment, Aether would already be gone, forever.
"I.. can't promise anything just yet, but I could never forget about you, I will always remember you, Xiao". That's right; he loved the way Aether called his name, his voice was soft, and comforting, but his words— his words still made his heart ache, like it was an early goodbye. Xiao wanted a promise, he needed that promise. He needed something— anything that would give him even just a shred of hope. He wanted it so badly. So he hugged him even tighter. "Please.. don't go— please don't go.." Xiao's voice wavered, like of a child that's on the verge of tears. But he simply couldn't help it, what would become of him when that day were to finally arrive. Would he be right back to being alone? Loss of his companionship? Loss of all his warmth? Right back to where he began? Aether stroked the raven hair as he did his best to comfort his partner. But Xiao had completely broke. "I'm here right now aren't I? So what's there to be upset about..?" Aether too couldn't help but give in to the same heartbreaking reminders. But if he wanted this to last, he needed to remain positive. For the both of them. "We're here now.. so let's cherish these moments we have, together. And for the rest of all the tomorrows".
