Just tell the Truth

When Trae left, I started cooking Tasha's favorite meal for dinner. I went and took a shower and changed into some dressy casual clothes. After making sure I looked good, I went and picked out Tasha something to wear. I started to drop rose petals down the hall and all the way up to the front door with little notes along the way. I know Tasha dropped Jada off at my mothers and would be home in about ten minutes. I began to run her a nice bubble bath and check on the process of dinner until she arrives. I'm kind of dreading her arrival because I don't know what her response will be after I give her the news.

I get back home after a fun filled and tiring day with Jada and I'm in need a nice long bath. I plan on having a kid-free night because Caliph's mother wanted Jada to spend the night with her so I dropped her off over there. As I enter into the house, I smell my favorite meal and I hear Luther Vandross through the speakers. I know tonight will be a night to remember. I look down and I see rose petals leading up the stairs and a note saying, "Follow the rose petals Baby." I get up to the room and I see more rose petals leading to the bathroom. Once I get to the bathroom, I see another note that reads, "Enjoy your bath Baby, get dressed when your done, and meet me downstairs." I began to smile and blush because this is so romantic and sweet of him. After my amazing bath, I enter back into the room where he has an entire outfit laid out for me. When I finish getting dressed, I head back down stairs to see him standing in the door way of the dining room just blushing. I swear I fall more in love with this man by the minute.

Tasha looks damn good walking down here. I swear she got a nigga blushing like crazy. I smile at her and say, "Baby, you look amazing!" "Aww thanks Baby, and you looking quite handsome yourself." "Well you know I try." We both start laughing. I lead her to her chair and pull it out for her to sit but only after I cop a feel. She looks at me with her mouth wide open. I tell her in all honesty, "I just couldn't resist." I go over to my seat and just stare at her beauty. She breaks the silence by saying, "Baby thanks for doing all of this for me. I really appreciate it." "Tasha you're more than welcome and you deserve it." She smiles at me, and I know I'm making the right decision in telling her this. "Caliph, you must want something real special from me?" I laugh and say, "What you mean Baby?" "I mean you cooked smothered cube steak, rice and gravy, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and corn bread which is my favorite meal so you must be wanting something special from me." "Tasha, baby I just wanted to do something special for you. I also wanna talk to you about something." "I'm very thankful for all of this, but what is it that you need to talk to me about?" "Straight to the point as always. Tasha, a couple of years I was real deep in the game. I was a big time hustler and had no plans on stopping, until the day they shot and killed Jada's mom." "It was some lil dudes trying to make a come up and steal from me. Jasmine, Jada's mom, got wind of it and tried to take matters into her own hands, I guess just to have my back. They shot and killed her right in front of her house where my baby was inside. I went out and found them niggas and killed them all." I pause just to see her reaction, but to my surprise it hasn't changed. So I continue on, "I just found out today that the brother of those same niggas that I bodied two years ago is going around looking for me. I also found out that their brother also happens to be your ex Jason's homeboy. So of course, because he doesn't like the fact that we're together, he's right along with ole dude. I didn't want you to know any of this because I wanted to leave my past in the past and I'm telling you all of this now because it's bound to be a war coming and I don't want you to be blind to it all. I want you and Jada to leave for a week or two until I come get y'all because I don't want y'all no where near this. Tasha, baby you hear me?"

"Yea I heard you, Caliph. It's just a lot to process." By all means, I completely understand why he wanted to keep that part of his past away from me. I mean who wouldn't understand. "Caliph, I'm behind you one hundred percent, and I know you gotta do what you gotta to protect your family. I'm just scared for your safety Caliph, that's all. I don't want you to get hurt." He gets up and comes over to hug me and says, "Baby, I'm going to be okay. Don't worry about me. You and Jada just take y'all a nice vacation somewhere and in two weeks, I'll be there to join y'all." I began to cry in his arms because I'm going to miss and think about him every single day. I also know that he wants us to be safe and away from whatever is to come. "I love you Caliph Gaines. He kisses me and says, "I love you too Tasha Wright." That night we didn't even finish dinner, but instead we ended up making love for the first time. It was so magical and it just felt right. I pray that he joins Jada and I in two weeks.
