Emerald trees rustled in the wind as the soft morning breeze danced across it's leafs in a delicate symphony. The sun glistened on the puddles that decorated the path of Worichwick's roads. A bored Rose strolled down the concrete path, not content with the beauty of the towns shimmering lakes or crisp green grass.
The warmth on her milk-white skin, the breeze through her long, black locks that swung above her shoulders and the sent of salt that crept into her nose from the water near by.
Rose was never interested in the view besides the sun got in her eyes or the plain-gray gravel that she stared at everyday on her way to college.
Plus, she had other things to focus on...
"Morning, freak!" a female voice shouted as Rose entered the college's campus as she felt something hit her ankle, sending her face swiftly into the concrete floor below.
she wiped the dust off her black lipstick covered scowl with her thumb before recomposing herself in front of the 'bitch of the college', Diana Murray.
"wow, even dust can't even make you pretty, especially with that get-up you call a Gothic look! what? you trying to emulate your parent's corpses?" her perfect blond hair bobbed as she laughed.
"At least I'm not trying to emulate the slut your mother is. I heard her and coach David had a lovely time in his office-" Rose was cut off by a swift punch to the abdomen, causing her to curl up and clutch her waist.
"Watch your mouth!" Diana spat before storming off, her lackeys following her like Mary's little lamb.
Rose sat up, walked down the hall to the toilets before locking herself in a stall and quickly changing out of her now laddered Iris-purple, spider tights.
She hated being at Worichwick College. The lack of care and punishment, the poor excuse for food and especially Diana.
It wasn't the first time this song and dance has happened, whether that be in person or on the internet, Diana could get away with anything. She was rich, confident and had friends.
Meanwhile, Rose...
...Rose was just the lonely, Orphan freak...
"I wish you where here right now mum and dad..." Roses voice echoed in the toilet stall.
"...but...I'm also glad your not...I would have hated to see your faces when I came home from school...bloody and beaten from my fights or covered in the apple pie mum used to make me every Friday..." Rose sighed before curling into a ball and clutching her legs to her chest.
"...I wish I took your place all those years ago...then I wouldn't have to deal with this..." she trembled in anger as she buried her head into her legs, trying to block out the world.
"But then you wouldn't be able to eat the food you want to eat or listen to music if you went" A single soft, female voice broke the lingering silence of the Roses thoughts.
Swiftly, Rose shot to her feet and turned to the right, teal-blue wall the voice originated from.
"I don't need your sympathy!" Rose blurted out in anger. Not anger at the stranger but more at herself for her careless nature. Of course someone else could be here, it's a public school restroom!
"I'm guessing you don't have many friends either, huh?" the voice asked, giving Rose some time to respond.
Rose wanted to shout but reconsidered. Slowly lowing herself onto the toilet and resting her head on the stall wall she verbally abused. She brushed her jet-black hair out of her pale face that was decorated in black make-up.
"Who are you?" Rose asked in a calm but stern voice.
"The name's Everley! Everley Halfborn," She said before sticking a hand under the stall for a hand shake "Don't worry, they're clean!"
Rose couldn't help but chuckle at this weird greeting. She stretched her fingerless-gloved hand towards the almond one to give a firm handshake.
"I'm Rose." kindly, she responded to the voice.
The ringing of the bell interrupted their greeting as it blared through the hallways and into the toilets where Rose and Everley resided, still clasping hands.
Quickly, Everleys hand snaked away before a click of a lock echoed in the room.
"I've got to go! I don't want to miss my first lesson! I'll see you at lunch in the field!" Everley stated in a frenzy.
Rose shouted her to wait as she unlocked her stall door and slammed it open with a bang but alas, toilets where empty. Nothing but her and the piercing white walls lingered.
"That's one weird-ass girl..." Rose thought as she stared at the closed mahogany door, in awe at Everley's speed and desperation to get to her class.
Rose strolled to her science class and sneaked into her seat, trying to take in the formulas and equations in front of her but the interaction lingered in her mind and clouded her thoughts.
...The gentle voice...
...The caring touch...
...The sweet personality...
All she could do is sketch ideas of who this mysterious girl was and stare at the window into the sea of green of Worichwick's field as birds sang and flew on by, noting how gorgeous it was and why she never noticed it before...
"...i can't wait to see her again..."
