I had to get away I had to. It felt like everyone was after me. My school. My family. I wanted a fresh, but you can't always have what you want in life.. I was currently walking my dog Saphie. She was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people outside today. As I was walking her I suddenly come to a stop, there was a big wall infront of me. It went on for miles. Why was nobody else noticing this? I stare at it, wondering what it was doing there. A big gust of wind then hits me sending me straight through it. I screatch as I land on a bit of grass. What the heck just happened. As I was about to get up, I get pushed back down by Saphie coming through. She yelps as she falls onto me. "Sorry buddy" I say as I set her down gently. I then look up, around. To see we were on this weird island. There were heaps of buildings and a bit of water around the bits of land. I continue to look around, about to move when suddenly I get hoisted up into the air. I widen my eyes not knowing how that had just happened. I look at Saphie as she comes over to me. What is this place. And why am I here? I grab her and try to do what I did before. And it works. Was I flying? This couldn't be real. That's way too impossible. I go over to a random house and set Saphie down. It was a very bright world, the sun was shining so bright. Something catches my attention, I look to see these doors to this two story house we're wide open. It got my curiosity up, as I approach it. When suddenly I hear a cat meow. "Hello" I call out, to see if anyone's there. Nobody. I then look down to see a baby. I widen my eyes at it. Was it abandoned. My eyes almost pop out as they widen more. It was the baby who was meowing. Full on meowing like a cat. I shake my head not believing this madness. I couldn't tell if it frightened me, or intrigued me. I look to my right to see another bit of land, except this part had heaps of shops, and different type of buildings plastered over it. I decide to do what I did before, to fly over there. I grab Saphie once more, going over there. It looked like there was a fair going on because I notice all these people. I put Saphie down on the ground as she roams around the place. There were quite a few hairdresser places, and a bunch of random little shops. As I was walking I ended up bumping into somebody. Slightly loosing balance. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry" the person says. I then turn to face them. Their voice being way too familiar. The person looks at me, in slight shock. "Well, I'll be" they say. "Tiff!" I say in pure surprise in my tone of voice. She smiles. "About damn time" I didn't bother to try notice why she said that, as I go into hug her. Tiffany was always like a big sister to me. She was always there for me. And when she left four years ago out of nowhere, I felt like I had lost myself a little. She kept me in check, always so bold, getting me to do the craziest things that were out of my comfort zone. "I'm so glad you're here" she says putting her hands on my face. "What is this place?" I ask still so confused with everything that's happened in the last hour or so. She sighs. "It's been too long, but let me explain on the way" she says beginning to walk. Everything was beautiful, the waters were so blue, the shops were the prettiest of colors. She looks down as we walk noticing Saphie. "Saphie, girl. You came to?" The little pup then looks up at her, lovingly. Saph had always loved Tiff. I feel like she wasn't the same after Tiffany had left aswel. Tiff looks at me. "It is a very long story Gen. But I'll tell you the basics. This place isn't normal. People do things that others can't. And as crazy as it sounds, we aren't normal" she states as we continue to walk. "What do you mean?" I ask looking at her. She sighs yet again. Slower this time. "Gen, ever since I came into your life all those years ago, it was because of a reason.. and this may sound beyond bizarre, but you're needed here. You've always been needed, because.. well you're the lost princess" I stare at her as she says that. I suddenly burst out with laughter. "You were always one for jokes, huh Tiff?" She looks at me seriously. My features then stiffen, feeling she wasn't joking. "Ok, you may not be a princess, that was me over-exaggerating. But you are one of the most powerful people in all of Newville" Newville?? Was that what this place is called. "Why am I needed here. She comes to a halt. "Genevieve. Do you ever wonder why your dad is never home?" I look at her puzzled, but nod anyway. "He runs this place. He's like the leader. Or as everyone calls him the 'king' of this place, which I think is a load of rubbish and is very farfetched. But hey, Newvilles residents worship him, and the fact they know he has a daughter, is the next best thing" I stare at her again. I couldn't make sense of it all. "He would never tell you about what he did, did he?" I don't say anything. It was true though, all this time I thought he did something with travel. He was never home, and when he was it wasn't for long. "I suppose not" I eventually say. "Does my mum know?" I ask looking back at her again. She nods. "She didn't want to tell you until you were ready, but I guess you were needed here. Which makes sense why with all that's been going on lately" I don't say anything again. I didn't know what to say, how to form words at this point in time. "Tiff? I wanna know something, just this and we can talk about the rest later. But, how am I able to just randomly float in the air..." I look at her, but she pauses. "This world has many magical aspects. As silly as that may sound its the truth. There's this underground erea that stores that ability. But nobody except your father knows where it is. Divers have searched all over the seas for it. But nothing. Everyone tries to get it out of him, but he won't budge" I nod. This was insane. All this information at once.. it was a bit too much. Tiff and I begin to walk around this current fair, Saphie close behind. "Does dad know I'm here?" I then ask, while we walk through the swarm of people. She turns to face me. "By the looks of it no. He always tried to keep this life away from you, to avoid you getting hurt I suppose" I tilt my head. "Hurt? How can this place hurt me?" I could tell something wasn't right with that question, as we come to a halt. She does another extended sigh. "Although this place is all bright and lovely, there's some not so lovely things coming after us. The detachers. They have been shut out for so long, but on the occasion, they come in. They've been looking for the 'lost princess' for years. That's you by the way. Ever since it was announced that Arthur had a daughter they haven't stopped bugging us since. Waiting for your arrival" I stare at the ground. Was I in danger. I shake my head trying to snap out of it. Hoping this was all a insane dream. But those chances were too slim. We walk under a bridge going past heaps of people. I look in a random direction when this guy catches my attention, he smiles at me. I obviously smile back, not wanting to be rude. He had beautiful, brown, shiny hair. That was semi long, and fluffy. And crazy cheekbones. He was honestly so beautiful. Tiff then pulls me out of my trance. "Don't even think about it Gen. He's a fuck boy. He's broken too many hearts around here" she says pushing her way through the crowd of people. "What's his name" I ask, curiosity overcoming me again. "Jackson, typical ass. Always thinks his shit doesn't stink. When in reality he's the biggest peice of shit around. Don't be fooled by his looks Gen" she says genuinely. "He's no good"
It was a little while later, I was still trying to wrap my brain around everything that's happened. Tiffany has let me stay at her house for the mean time. I was staring at the ceiling, while laying in the guest rooms bed. Her place was absolutely beautiful, so warm and cozy. Tiff always had that sence about her. She was a tough cookie on the outside, and more or less on the in, but she had a heart of gold. She's older than me by a couple of years, and she's taught me so much in life. I'm just glad I could see her again. I turn over to lay on my side, Saphie at the end of the bed. Fast asleep. Oh Saph. Whats life become now I'm here. I wished for a fresh start. And I definitely got it, but there's always a price to pay, isn't there.
