Who is she?

Chapter one

I looked upon my group of cadets as they ran their 20 laps around the castle. Their foot steps were in perfect sync as they called cadence. Each step and each call set a perfect pace for the following lap. I smiled as I watched them grab the ones that were falling behind. I closed my arms and listened to the cadence call.

"ONE MILE"
"NO SWEAT"
"TWO MILES"
"BETTER YET"
"THREE MILES"
"GOTTA RUN"
"FOUR MILES"
"JUST FOR FUN"
"COME ON"
"LET'S GO"
"WE CAN GO"
"THROUGH THE SNOW"
"WE CAN RUN"
"TO THE SUN"
"WE CAN TRAIN"
"IN THE RAIN"

I smiled as I saw them come around for a final time. My cadets were holding each other up as they repeated the cadence that they set. Their feet were slow but they kept cadence. I heard footsteps that weren't in sync. I turned around and saw Levi squad and Erwin Smith.

"Oh, hello Levi Squad. Levi, Erwin. How can I help you?" I asked while listening to the footsteps of my cadets slow down to a stop. They slowly approached me. Levi Squad looked at me as they stretched.

"Oh, nothing Captain L/n. I was just coming out here to observe yours and Levi's squad train." Erwin said while looking at Levi. I nodded and called my squad of 5 away from the track that we they ran.

"Okay Black Opps. We've done the warm up laps, Now we're going to do the actual exercise. All of you grab the practice knifes and get ready for hand to hand combat!" I said while pulling out a small knife from my pouch.

I looked at Levi. His eyes were focused on the knife in my hand. I smiled and thought about a friendly competition.

"Hey Levi! Why don't you're cadets finish their laps and we have a hand to hand combat competition? Your squad v. my squad, what do ya say Levi?" I asked while looking at my squad.

Levi looked like he was about to refuse when Erwin butted in. "I think It'll be very informational for you two and your squads. So, why not!" I looked at Erwin and Smiled as I set my team off against each other.

"Alright Squad Opps! Let's set against each other and give the Levi Squad a challenge! Angela, you need to go against Dianne. Ribi, you'll pair up with Nakashima. As for Musato, you'll go up against me." I said to my cadets as they got with their partners.

I watched as my cadets got into their stances and got to work. Their bodies glided along the grass and the blades that were held in their hands glided so naturally from starting position to ending position. I smiled as I turned back to Musato, my second in command, and watched him. His hands shook as he held his knife in his right fist.

I smiled as I walked up to him, slowly. His eyes looked at me with confusion as my slow steps sounded off of the grassy ground. Musato held his knife as he watched me near closer, like a snake getting drawn to its prey. I only smiled as I stood in front of him, my feet holding to a still.

"Captain, what are yo-" Musato stammered before I thrusted my knife towards his face with enough force to knock his center weight off balance. He screamed as I coiled my body around his like a snake while slowly tracing the places where I could've 'Stabbed' him to end the match, but I kept the match going because my fun has only started. Soon, my hand held him by the waist as I did a simple slicing motion across his throat. Musato shivered as the little wooden blade ran over his skin, goose bumps followed the blade.

"And... that's time! You did good Musato, try not to get  distracted by the 'Viper' technique. That simple movement can always get you killed if you're not careful. Now, go clean up and get lunch prepared for the rest of us. JAEGER! Go with Musato and prepare lunch. Consider this a punishment for finishing last in the laps. NOW OFF!!!" I yelled the last bit with as much authority as I could muster.

I heard footsteps behind me. I shuddered and spun around like I was in my 3DM gear and swept their leg like it was a pile of dust. When I got up, I saw my comrade, Hanji on the floor looking like she just got the wind knocked out of their lungs. I smiled with amusement while watching her writhe around on the ground before I spoke again.

"Hanji-san, you know  you can't sneak up on me. You know that I hate when people sneak up on me. Be careful next time, Dumb ass..." I warned Hanji as I extended my hand out for them to grab a hold of so that she can get up. Hanji grabbed my hand, nearly breaking my hand and wrist.

"I'm sorry Y/N-sama, but I JUST GOT THE NEW TITANS!!! I THINK YOU'RE GONNA LOOOOOOVE THEM!!!!" Hanji screamed after getting up on her feet again and dusting herself off. I sighed and rubbed my temples... It's gonna be a loooooooong day...
