MIRIOs P.O.V

I was sat looking out the window, waiting for Y/n to be the next person to walk in through the door but minutes were turning into hours. I'd tried calling and texting her but neither were responded to, so I got up and left the cafe taking out my phone to message Tamaki.

You
Are you busy right now?

Tamaki
No

Tamaki
Aren't you with Y/n

You
Meant to be, yes

You
Seems she ditched me

You
I just need a friend right now

Tamaki
Oh

I waited for some other reply but got none so I put my phone away with a sigh and headed towards a park that often made me happy as it was a place me and Tamaki played during childhood and it's now a place I go to with Nejire, Y/n, and Tamaki, just to talk and hang out but even conversation in school has been a task amongst us four. Nejire and Tamaki are busy with lessons whilst Y/n is busy training to be a teacher, I wouldn't be surprised if she was passed out somewhere from the exhaustion of putting every possible hour in just to prove herself.

I sat myself on a swing and kicked back and forth slightly, stopping when I felt someone beside me, I looked to apologize to who I assumed would be a child wanting to play on the swings with whatever company they had at this time, but next to me on the swings was Tamaki. He whispered "Do you want to talk about it?" I let out a breath and leaned my head back "As much as I'd love to Tamaki, nothing will change... Unless I speak to her but that's nearly impossible! It's almost like she's trying to avoid me!"

"I doubt that's true Mirio... You have to understand she has more concerns about her future than all of us... We have a home to welcome us back if something is to go wrong, she is left to do everything for herself after this year." I hummed and looked down to the ground "She's not just doing teacher training with Aizawa though, she's going on patrols as well... She takes on more and it involves him but doesn't even try to push for time with me, or any of us." He didn't reply and I turned my head slightly to see that his cheeks had flushed pink, he noticed my gaze and stuttered out "A-Are you suggesting Y/n is..." He pressed his lips together and quickly looked away, shaking his head slightly "You shouldn't assume that about Y/n." I let out a breath and looked forward.

"What else can I think?... When I went to 1-As alliance to hand Eri over to Aizawa, Midoriya informed me he still hadn't returned, I then asked if he could take Eri because I had to get to my date... He said that Y/n might still be with Aizawa... She told me she had gone to Nighteyes Agency and was then heading to visit the cemetery but she was really with Aizawa, probably went on a date with him instead, and he probably got to take her home with him-" Tamaki abruptly stood up and turned to face me, fists clenched at his sides "Don't speak so lowly of Y/n, you are supposed to love and trust her, but all you are doing right now is the complete opposite... How can you even speak of your friend like that, let alone your girlfriend?" I let out a breath.

"Because I don't know if she loves me Tamaki..." He slowly unclenched his hands and just stood there, I closed my eyes "When I lost my quirk, she always comforted me and I was so thankful. She pushed things aside for me, even giving up time that she was meant to have away for training." Tamaki smiled slightly "That's how Y/n is, she's selfless and puts even those she doesn't know above herself... She knows what it's like to lose and doesn't want anyone to experience complete loss." I smiled towards the ground "Yeah... I couldn't believe it when she told us she lived at the orphanage." He hummed.

"Yeah, and Nejire just asked where her family was." I nodded and looked up from the ground to look at him "All around her, because family is just a word for people that stick together." He nodded, then looking around "We haven't been here, just the two of us in a while." I hummed and looked over to the children's climbing frame where I looked back on the time I helped Tamaki play on it for the first time.

"Come on Tamaki, you can do it!" I felt a shaky hand fall onto my head as he stammered from being sat on my shoulders "Everyone is watching us Mirio." I shrugged and both his hands quickly grabbed onto my hair as he let out a small shriek "Who cares, we're just having fun!"

"Hey Tamaki, do you remember how to use the climbing frame?" He looked confused but nodded slightly and I jumped up "Then let's retrace our steps to a time where it was just us two, after all, we don't give enough time to look back to where we came from, what we've accomplished!" I laughed as we reached the climbing frame and almost had to duck to get under it. I grabbed onto a bar and pulled my body up, bending my knees so I'd be off the floor "Come on Tamaki!" He looked around and I smiled "Who cares, we're just having fun!" He looked directly at me and he moved to be in front of me, then doing as I was. He smiled as a blush coated his cheeks, then whispering "You've always been brave Mirio." I hummed.

"You're not any less than me Tamaki... I remember you not wishing to speak to anyone let alone speak up, but now you've got a number of friends and allowed Eri to be saved by taking villains on so everyone else could continue! Even when they wanted to stay by you!" The colour of his cheeks increased and spread, almost covering his whole face. He then whispered "It's because I was able to follow you."

I smiled "Well, I wouldn't be where I am today without you Tamaki, quite literally!" I looked up to the bar that held me up and as if it sent a sort of signal it broke from the side and I stumbled, unable to catch myself. I opened my eyes to see Tamaki below me, his eyes were tightly shut and it was the same for his lips. Without realising I slowly leaned forward, slowly closing my eyes as I met his lips and with the crack of light that met my eyes I saw his widen as his face completely blossomed with a shade of red. I closed my eyes and an image of Y/n popped into my mind.

We were getting lunch from the cafeteria when Tamaki completely froze up at the sight of the line, then turning to face the almost coincidentally placed wall, Y/n glanced over at him and instead of looking away she took a careful step and placed a hand on his shoulder "It's okay Tamaki, that is quite the scary crowd after all, but we're all here! However, if you want, I can go get your food this time, you can't immediately swim in the deep end after all!" Tamaki slightly nodded and she leaned up slightly to wrap her arm around his shoulders "That's the spirit Tamaki! With such spirit you'll pave your way to being a great hero!"

I pushed myself up on my arms to create distance between me and Tamaki, recognising how uncomfortable he must be, he was staring at me wide eyed. He then stammered "Mirio." I let out a breath and moved away to sit down on the floor, looking away from him "I shouldn't have, I know... But it felt right, for me at least." After a while he quietly said "But Y/n." I hummed and looked towards him "Well, did you feel anything?" His lips parted but then they sealed again as he turned his head to look away, he then nodded slightly and I forced a smile to then face as I did previously "Then it's mutual... Don't worry, I will tell Y/n, and don't worry, if Y/n is hurt I'll make sure she knows it was completely on me, she doesn't deserve to lose you because of me."
