Daella was born on 115 AC, the twin to Lucerys Velaryon, born with bright purple eyes and pasty white hair.
Although they were twins they looked nothing alike.
She looked similar to their mother, however, Joffery, Jacerys, and Lucerys, on the other hand, looked nothing alike to either of their parents.
While they were younger they got along perfectly, each of them trusting the other more than they trusted themselves. For a while, the same applied to her Uncles and Aunt.
She and Aemond would play for hours together, giggling while chasing each other down the halls hand in hand, meanwhile Helena would sit with her while they played in the garden.
That was before Aegon formed a flavor for alcohol and mischief; Then was when things began going wrong. In a few months, Aemond had transformed from this playful little boy to this solemn haunted child. Then, her brothers began following Aegon's lead, getting into a variety of tricks and jokes.
Despite this, she always stayed the same.
She was always more playful though, every time they had access to the training yards Daella would be the first to reach for a sword. That was until her mother would scold her, saying the training yard was no place for a lady.
It left Daella with a heavy heart and a saddened gaze. Sir Harwin had noticed that and always tried his hardest to comfort her to the best of his ability. Yet on her sixth nameday he decided to buy her a little dagger. To which she had never been so grateful in her life. However, his only rule was to not present it in front of anyone else.
She twisted the rules a bit when Lucerys caught her playing with it. From then it was their little secret.
Day and night she would practice in the corner of their shared room, sometimes Luke would cheer her on, and sometimes they would train together. And although they didn't look alike, she would consider her twin to be the closest friend she ever had. Other than Sir Harwin of course.
Daella didn't have many friends from the start. Her Uncle Aegon was a bit funny to her and her older brother Jacerys mainly spent his time with Aegon or Luke. She thought it was because she was a lady, and ladies couldn't do the things that they did. Her Aunt Helana however, was nice to talk to, yet she seemed mostly dazed most of the time and had a habit of speaking in riddles that Daella couldn't yet understand.
Sometimes her maids would talk to her or attempt to teach her new things. Sometimes they talked about their families outside of the city walls, telling tales of what lay beyond. Valleys of snow, forests of bright green.
Instead, she was forced to sit learning to play the harp and use a needle. Over this time she made another friend named Kath, who was her instructor and personal maid. Kath wasn't that old, ranging around her twenties, with hazel eyes and chocolate brown hair.
Kath taught her how to stand up straight, and how to read like a proper lady of the court should. So while her brothers were learning combat, she was learning the laws of the seven kingdoms.
Daella had one other close friend, Aemond. As children, they were always the closest.
They had easily bonded over their lack of a dragon. Neither of them truly fit in, and although he seemed intimidating on the outside, she could see that he was trying his hardest.
In some ways, he had reminded Daella of herself.

Daella had joined her family at the dragon pit one day.
