Hi. My name is Y/N and I am 19 years old! Recently, there has been a deadly viruse spreading throughout my city and has killed majority of the people. My friends and parents sadly passed away to this virus, as there is no vaccine. At least not yet.. The reward of finding this vaccine is $100k in cash.
I have two german shepherds. One male, one female. The males name is Ace(named after my childhood shepherd that passed irl), the females dogs name is Katara (ka-tar-uh).
My parents got them for me on my 17th birthday, and as they grew bigger, they convinced me to let them buy a trainer that could make them a guard dog for me. And sure enough they are guard dogs! They are well behaved and will only attack if they feel threatened, or someone is about to attack or harm me in any way. They love to play with each other and love cuddles!
A few months before the virus started spreading, the news had stated that a group of 4 teenagers at the age of 16 have gone randonaucting and set their intention as "death." The day after they didnt return home, their parents grew worried and reported missing children to the police. The police were able to track them down and they were found walking around in a huge field with 4 other people, in the middle of no where. The cop approached them and quickly figured out they werent human. He eneded up shooting them and taking a picture before driving off back to the police station.
Ever since that popped up on the news and the cop got interviewed, my parents have been taking this very seriously and starting stocking up on food and toilet paper, etc. I mean, I would have too. You never know what could happen at any time. A few months later, a victim of the virus broke out of the hospital, causing people to scream and try to run away.
One night while everyone was sleeping in my household. Me, my mother, father, and the dogs. A window broke in the kitchen causing the dogs to immediately react. They were in my room and I quickly got out of bed and opened my door. The dogs charged out and immediately went to the kitchen with me following quickly behind.
I didnt see anything until I heard a roaring noise. My parents ran into the kitchen together and as soon as I looked at them, they looked horrified.
"What..?" "Y/N, come here right now."
The dogs started barking and were getting ready to attack. There was 2 of them. It took me a second to realize what they were. Zombies. They eventually got inside and once I commanded the dogs to attack they did.
One of the zombies did a screeching moan to the other and it was almost like they were communicating through moans and groans. They both attacked a parent. The dogs went to bite both zombies. Ace went to the zombie attacking my mother and Katara went to the one attacking my father. The zombies let go of my parents and let out a hissing sound.
I quickly ran to my bedroom with the dogs and my parents after stabbing both zombies. I closed the door and locked it then I grabbed one of my big backpacks for camping, or emergencys, and stuffed clothes, and food and water from my mini fridge into my backpack. I grabbed my weapons and turned to look at my parents. (Also i would like to say that the backpacks arent HUGE just big enough for like camping trips. Here are some examples on what im talking about)

Their scleras were no longer white, and were red. Their noses were bleeding. I already knew what this meant. I studied about the virus and what happens when a zombie bites you. The bitten persons scleras turn red and their nose bleeds.
"Mom.. Dad.." "What?" They both said. "You guys were bitten.. werent you?" I said in a worried and scared tone. "No..?"
There was banging on the bedroom door and we all faced towards it. Ace and Katara growled. "Leave it" I said. Shortly after, both of my parents fell to the ground and their bones.. I cant even describe what they did. The closest I would get to describing it is how chrissys bones broke when vecna got her in stranger things. Chrissy crumbled.
"Run." My mother said quietly but loud enough for me to hear. "What?" "Run. Now." My father said.
I wasnt taking any chances and jumped out the window after opening it and ran with the dogs, my weapons, and backpack.
"I love you mom and dad." I said to myself while running away with the dogs and tears in my eyes.
And that is how I ended up in this situation.
