As most young aspiring ninja do, Itachi Uchiha spent most of his time training. His favorite place to train was out in the forest nearby. After the attack of the nine tailed fox nearly five years ago, the Uchiha clan had been relocated to a different section on the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf village so it was easy for him to sneak out of the walls surrounding the village. His younger brother, Sasuke, adored him and often tried to follow him into the forest so he could train with him despite being four years younger than Itachi. By the time Itachi was eight years old, he had already awakened his sharingan and was considered a genius by the elders of his clan.

One evening while practicing with his shuriken out in the forest, Itachi began to feel as if something was out there, watching him. He shook it off and went to retrieve the shuriken from his target, deciding it was probably just an animal or maybe even his younger brother. He threw them once more and watched as they landed perfectly. Then from behind him, he heard a twig snap. His sharp eyes scanned all around him searching for the cause of the sound. Itachi began to notice something up in a tree nearby but was distracted by Sasuke jumping out in front of him in an attempt to scare him. He had known Sasuke was there all along so he pretended to be startled, earning a laugh from his brother as he hopped onto his back. Sasuke had been sent by their mother, Mikoto, to bring Itachi home for dinner so they began to head back with smiles on both their faces.

Itachi couldn't stop thinking about the feeling of being watched he felt the day before, so he decided to move to a new training spot in the forest. Days passed until once again he felt the watchful eyes on his back. It felt closer this time. Was it in the trees again? He looked around. No, this time it was in the bushes. Itachi knew it wasn't Sasuke because he was sitting on a rock to the side of him. He launched the kunai he was holding into the bushes hoping to catch whatever it was but when he went to retrieve it, there was nothing there. He looked around the bushes and the tree the kunai landed on, but there was still nothing, not even any tracks. From then on out, he continued to feel as though he was being watched but tried his best to ignore it. It  wasn't until a week or so later, Sasuke brought up that he also felt like they were being watched. They decided to look together for whatever had been watching them.

It didn't take the brothers very long to find her, they did so that same day they set out to look. They found a young girl around the same age as Sasuke hiding in the trees.

---------------------

Kyozen gazed at the mysterious  boys she had been sneaking out to watch, with eyes wide in shock. Moments of silence passed as they all stared at each other. Then, like a wild animal, Kyozen darted from the tree and ran as fast as she could with her little legs. She wasn't fast enough though because Itachi easily caught up with her using his chakra.

Sasuke finally caught up to them as well, and looked the strange girl over. She was barefoot and dressed in red and blue. The girl had long, wild curly hair that was split, half white hair and one blue eye, the other half had black hair and an amber colored eye. The brothers had never seen anyone like her, certainly not in their village.

"Who are you? Where'd you come from? Why were you watching us?" Itachi questioned.

The girl said nothing, still staring in bewilderment. They could see her reacting in fear, gripping onto the tree they had cornered her at. Sasuke stepped out from behind his brother, "It's okay, we won't hurt you," he offered. "I'm Sasuke, and this is my big brother Itachi. We're from the Leaf village, where'd you come from?"

Out of nowhere, a group of deer rushed out and put themselves in between the brothers and the girl. She grabbed onto the antlers of one of the bucks near her and the group took off. On the back of the deer, she turned and got one last look at the boys before they disappeared into the woods. Kyozen held on tightly as the deer carried her home. Kyozen had been found, what would happen if they followed her back to her home? Would they have to leave again? She had grown very attached to this home in the woods and didn't want to move so she decided she wasn't going to tell her parents. The boy her size, she learned was named Sasuke, told her that they wouldn't hurt her so she hoped they wouldn't be able to track her down. Kyozen stopped playing in the woods and stayed home with her parents, in fear they would be found.

After a few days had passed and the boys hadn't come for her and her family, she decided to play out in the forest again. This however was a mistake because the brothers had been looking for her. They found her near Itachi's first training spot. Sasuke ran up to her with a friendly smile, Itachi not far behind him also adorned with a smile.

"Hey! It's you! We've been looking for you everywhe- Wait! don't run away again!"

Kyozen hesitated, turned to look at them and decided to trust him a little. ".....My names Kyozen and I live in this forest." She said quickly before running away once more. Shocked, the brothers turned to look at each other then back to her as she ran off. "Kyozen..." Sasuke repeated her name. The brothers decided to stop looking for her and to leave her be as she obviously was more afraid of them than they were of her, though they had a feeling that they would meet her again.
