The sun was shining, Rosa put the snacks on the table. She had invited her best friend Elise over for lunch. Because the weather was so good they ate outside.

"Not on the street sweeties!" Elise said to the 3 children. Elise had two children and Rosa 1. George was his name, he was 5 years old and loved to play with his friends. They played with the ball.

They tossed it at each other and laughed loudly. While the mothers were sitting outside George father just came out, here are the crisps." He said. His wife smiled at him and gave him a kiss. "Thank you dear."

Elise looked at the children and shot straight. "George don't!" She yelled but it was already too late. The little brunet was standing on the road, he picked up the ball that he dropped. He looked up.

Black.

The adults run to the small child. He lay on the floor, blood running from under his head, The man from the car got out and took off his cap and he started to panic. "Kids come here, I'll call 911." Elise said as she took her terrified children inside and called 999.

"George! Omg George!" Called his mother when she did not dare to touch her child. He looked so lifeless while the father was yelling at the car driver in the background.

Not long after, the emergency services arrived and took George in the ambulance. "Which of the parents will go with us, we only have room for one parent." The nurse said quickly. "You go sweetheart, I'm right after you." Said the man, he kissed the woman's forhead and run back inside.

- Day 3 -

Three days later. It was the three hardest days of George's parents' lives. They watched weakly as their little boy got all sorts of wires to keep him alive. The doctors said he had suffered a major concussion.

She told me that he was a real fighter and that if he kept going like that, he had a 23% chance to survive.

- Day 4 -

Day 4 had arrived. George was still in a coma fighting for his life. His mom told him his favorite bedtime story. It called Sleepy Heads. Sandra J. Howatt.
