There are only three more days until Lappland's death.

"Exusiai baked some apple pies today for us, Lappland," Texas said, quietly.

Lappland closed her eyes, no longer wanting to speak. It was far too painful. Texas sat there, silently, her heart breaking.

"The crew hasn't come back yet. They're still at the premises of the lab," Texas notified.

Lappland was generally confused, already forgetting about them. She opened her eyes, and tried to smile a little. It was painful to do so.

An IV drip was connected to her arm, giving her the nutrients to survive for just a little while longer.

"Please! You can't just tell me that the cure won't work!" Texas yelled at Ansel.

"Lappland is far too gone! There are too many rocks in her blood. She can die!" Ansel said, frustrated.

"But at least try! Even if there isn't much hope, it's still more than just letting her be!" Texas insisted, "It's only common sense."

Lappland struggled painfully and put her hand on Texas'. She shook her head a little. Looking at Lappland, Texas felt her heart shatter. Lappland smiled a bit again, trying to help Texas feel just a little bit better.

Texas cried. "No, I can't let some goddamn rock take my lover from me! She's strong, what has she done? Everything in her life faded in front of her face. She saw her whole pack's existence disappear. She went through a lot. And seeing she's still here, she has proved to be a strong woman. And I can't stand to see her just here wasting the last of days, confined to a fucking medical bed! She has potential to fight, she even knew where the cure was! You have to at least try, Ansel!" Texas ranted, "Please...please just try."

Ansel stood there, his heart breaking. The connection between Texas and Lappland was so strong that he felt guilty if he didn't do anything.

Ever since childhood, the duo stuck together, facing all their obstacles together. They knew each other very well. They loved each other for practically their whole life.

"Fine," Ansel breathed, "I will call the best medics to work with me. There may be a way for this to work. But just in case, prepare for the funeral."

Lappland, hearing all of this, smiled painfully. She looked at Texas, and her heart cracked seeing her cry.

She wanted to comfort Texas, hug her, kiss her maybe. But she couldn't move, and she got frustrated. But she couldn't vent it out, it was too painful.

She grumbled happily, and Ansel glanced at her. Ansel smiled sympathetically at Lappland. He had never known that the famous manic psychopath of Rhodes would be able to smile genuinely, or try to.

"Well, I will go and immediately prepare. The operation will most likely last for a little over ten hours," Ansel said, smiling, "We won't let you down."

Texas nodded, still crying. She reached for Lappland, and intertwined their fingers.

"I love you a lot, Lappland," Texas said. She was answered by silence and Lappland's closed eyelids.
