The Order of the Phoenix

I sat in the room as the other members of the order talked about what we had to do next not being a full member yet I was allowed to sit in on the meetings but it's not like I had any say my lack of experience spoke for itself. I had been at number twelve, Grimmauld Place for about a good 5 weeks now same as the others Ron, Hermione and the twin's Harry was the only one missing but not for long I suspected.

"There've been no sightings," Lupin said.

"No deaths. No proof" Sirius said who we might as well just call the leader at this point

"He almost killed Harry. If that isn't proof enough..." Arthur said.

"Yes, but guarding you-know-what is the most important..." Sirius said.

"We must trust Dumbledore on this" Lupin said.

"Was he able to protect Harry last year?" Sirius said.

"Well, tonight I say it's time to take action," Lupin said.

"Cornelius Fudge is a politician first and a wizard second," Sirius said.

"His instinct would be to ignore it..." Arthur said.

"Keep your voices down," I said piping up and they did.

"He's getting stronger and stronger by the minute. We have to act now" Lupin said.

"Harry," Mrs Weasley said and I shot up from my seat.

"Mrs Weasley" Harry as they hugged.

"Heavens, you're all right. Bit peaky, but I'm afraid dinner will wait until after the meeting's finished. Nope. No time to explain. Straight upstairs, first door on the left. Yeah," Mrs Weasley said.

"Harry wait up," I said.

"Jessica what are you doing here," Harry said.

"Well I am a member of this order," I said.

"Order," Harry asked.

"The others can explain," I said as we went up the stairs.

"Others," Harry said.

"Oh, Harry. Are you all right? We overheard them talking about the Dementor attack. You must tell us everything" Hermione said as we got to the room Harry would be staying in.

"Let the man breathe, Hermione," Ron said.

"And this hearing at the Ministry. It's just outrageous. I've looked it up. They simply can't expel you. It's completely unfair" Hermione said.

"Yeah. There's a lot of that going around at the moment. So, what is this place?" Harry said.

"It's headquarters," Ron said.

"Of the Order of the Phoenix. It's a secret society. Dumbledore formed it back when they fought You-Know-Who" Hermione said.

"Couldn't have put any of this in a letter, I suppose? I've gone all summer without a scrap of news," Harry said looking at each one of us.

"We wanted to write, mate. Really, we did. Only..." Ron said.

"Only what?" Harry said.

"Only Dumbledore made us swear me in particular not to tell you anything," I said.

"Dumbledore said that? But why would he keep me in the dark? Maybe I could help. I'm the one who saw Voldemort return... the one who fought him, who saw Cedric Diggory get killed" Harry said.

"Harry. Thought we heard your dulcet tones. Don't bottle it up, though, mate. Let it out. If you're all done shouting... Do you wanna hear something a little more interesting?" Said the twins as they appeared from nowhere using their wands to apparatet.

"If anyone has a right to know, it's Harry. If it wasn't for Harry... we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back. He's not a child, Molly" Sirius said as we listened to their conversation using a big ear on a string.

"But he's not an adult either. He's not James, Sirius." Mrs Weasley said.

"Well, he's not your son," Arthur said.

"He's as good as. Who else has he got?" Sirius said.

"Hey, Ginny," Ron said as Ginny came up to us.

"How touchingly paternal, Black. Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather" Snape said.

"Now, you stay out of this, Snivellus," Sirius said.

"Snape's part of the Order?" Harry said.

"Git," Ron said.

"I know better," Sirius said.

"So why don't you tell him?" Lupin said but then the sound became distorted as Crookshanks starts to play with the ear.

"Get off it," Hermione said.

"Get it up quick" Fred said as they tried to pull it up.

"Crookshanks Stop it," Hermione said.

"Get off, you bloody cat" Ron said.

"Crookshanks. Leave it alone," Hermione said.

"Get it up," Fred said again but Crookshanks pulled it off completely and walk off with it.

"Hermione, I hate your cat," Ron said.

"Bad Crookshanks," Hermione said.

The meeting ended a good 20 minutes later and we were all called down for dinner I took Hermione's hand as we walked down the stairs, I know she likes it when I do.

"Well, we'll be eating down in the kitchen. OHHHHHH Just because you're allowed to use magic now... does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything" Mrs Weasley yelled at the twins as they appeared behind her making her jump out of her skin.

We walked down to the kitchen and I was looking at my dad in the doorway and I could tell he knew we were listing in on the meeting earlier he then moved as Sirius appeared.

"Harry Potter," He said.

"Sirius," Harry said as they hugged.

"This is very, very peculiar. It seems your hearing in the Ministry is to be before the entire Wizengamot" Lupin said.

"I don't understand. What has the Ministry of Magic got against me?" Harry said.

"Show him. He'll find out soon enough" Mad eye said and Harry was handed a paper.

"He's been attacking Dumbledore as well, Fudge is using all his power, including his influence at the Daily Prophet... to smear anyone who claims the Dark Lord has returned," Sirius said.

"Why?" Harry said.

"He thinks Dumbledore's after his job," Sirius said.

"That's crazy no one in their right mind could believe that..." Harry said.

"Exactly the point. Fudge isn't in his right mind. It's been twisted and warped by fear. Now, fear makes people do terrible things, Harry. The last time Voldemort gained power... he almost destroyed everything we hold most dear. Now he's returned, and I'm afraid the minister will do almost anything... to avoid facing that terrifying truth. We think Voldemort wants to build up his army again. Fourteen years ago, he had huge numbers at his command. And not just witches and wizards, but all manner of dark creatures" Lupin said

"He's been recruiting heavily, and we've been attempting to do the same. But gathering followers isn't the only thing he's interested in," I said.

"We believe... Voldemort may be after something. Something he didn't have last time," Sirius said.
