Chapter 19

Sorry for the late update you guys. I was a little busy so wasn't able to publish early but wait until the end of this chapter because I am so thrilled!

Spongebob's POV

Jimmy ran ahead of me while I followed in pursuit. I was determined to rescue them, I knew it was evil! From what I heard from Jimmy's intel, Danny, Timmy, and Y/n are all trapped in that place. After all, when this is over I'm restricting them from going anywhere near it. I grabbed my fighting gloves and followed Jimmy outside in a hurry. He told me it was better through the forest since it's the fastest way than through the park.

"We're almost there!" Jimmy called out from up ahead as the building came into view. As much as I despise entering that place, I have to do it for my friends! We dodged some upcoming trees and jumped over outstretched roots in our way. I wasn't going to let a bunch of trees stop me! We slowed as we made our way to the front door. It was still wide open when we got there.

"They are in here, follow me." Jimmy said, beckoning me inside. I thought I saw him smirking before he disappeared inside.

I swallowed hard but I puffed out my chest to seem tough, I'm a grown man after all.
I steeled my nerves and stepped inside.

"Hello? Spongebob?" Y/n called as she opened the door, Scarlett was the first to greet them. Timmy entered behind here only to find the house eerily silent. They both looked at each other.

"Maybe he went out to look for us?" Timmy shrugged.

Y/n hoped that was the case, she couldn't help feeling anxious.

"You don't think he's gone missing too, right?" Y/n asked nervously.

"Naw, I'm sure he will come back." Timmy replied though he was a little unsure himself.
Y/n could hear Timmy's voice cracking at his last statement making her feel bad for him all the more. It didn't take long for her to see Timmy trembling. She could tell he was trying to hide his true emotions. She walked over to him and hugged him. He nearly stumbled at her approach then straightened up as she released.

"Don't worry about me I'll be fine, I'm sure Spongebob will come back Heck he might even find the others." Timmy said, rubbing the back of his head with a toothy grin.

Timmy's POV

I knew Y/n was as worried as I am and I couldn't help but feel guilty for everything that happened. As I was walking to my room, an idea struck me. 'Maybe If he doesn't come back, I will be the one to find them!' Then I realized That I would have left Y/n by herself. 'Naw, I will be back before she notices, and in the worst-case scenario, I'll bring Jimmy's robot companion with me since y/n has Scarlett. And I still don't have Cosmo and Wanda with me.' I sigh looking at the empty fish bowl as I head for bed. 'Besides, How much trouble could I possibly get into?'

"Alright, Jimmy! What do we do now?" Spongebob asked, getting his fists up as he stepped in his new surroundings. It was dark but he could clearly see the dusted portraits and cobwebs in detail.
"This way..." Jimmy said rather calmly as he walked down the empty hallway. Spongebob followed, still tensed at what might pop out. They continued forward until they reached a door. Spongebob looked up at a sign that read:

Basement

"Are they trapped in there?" Spongebob asked quickly. Jimmy then handed the serum that Spongebob used last time during the fight against the syndicate. He didn't say anything except head downstairs. Spongebob thought he saw a smile before he disappeared. He still followed reluctantly, fear griping at him with each step he took.
'You're doing this for your friends' he reminded himself as He took a sip from the serum and headed down. As he got to the bottom step, a foul stench reached his nose making him gag. He was wondering where the smell was coming from. It didn't bode well. Spongebob finally reached a doorway with a door halfway opened, the smell getting stronger. 'This smells worse than the time I had rancid breath from eating a peanut onion sundae.' Spongebob thought to himself, pinching his nose. He used his other hand to push the door open. His stomach dropped as his eyes grew wide with fear. Right in front of him, lay Danny with his internal organs exposed. Green ectoplasm was splattered in some places. Some of the tools he had guessed were used on him, had some ectoplasm on them. His eyes were unable to avoid the gruesome scene.
"D-Danny?" Spongebob managed to speak out.
He yelped as he felt a sharp pain in his neck. Jimmy had managed to pierce him with a syringe, Injecting a strange substance inside him.
He began to feel woozy as his energy started to deteriorate, his whole world spun as shadows enveloped him.

(at this point he is now back to being a sponge.)

Spongebob's POV

"GAH!!!"

My eyes shot open as I felt something stick to the side of my neck. My eyes slowly came into focus on a naked bulb above. It was dimly lit so I couldn't see much. whole body felt rigid and straight as if no movement was possible. I lifted and lowered my head to see my long yellow arms and legs confined by the chains holding them tightly. Immediately I started to panic, darting my eyes around the room to find some exit.

"Ah, I see that you're finally awake." A voice caught my attention and my eyes fell upon a figure standing a few feet in front of me. It was Jimmy who was placing down what looked like a syringe on the table.

"Jimmy! Thank goodness you're here! Um, can you lend me a hand? I can't seem to move my body 'cause I'm tied up now." I asked, relieved to see him.
"I would, but I'll need to run some tests on you first. I'm curious to see how your sponge-like structure would react to this substance I've concocted in this." Jimmy explained, holding up a syringe filled with a glowing green liquid inside.

"Wait, didn't you say our friends are in trouble?" I asked nervously. Why would he want to test whatever it is on me at a time like this?

"There has been a change of plans. You see, you have something that I need to perfect my project. Of course, I ran out of ectoplasm so I needed to get some more. I know Danny would produce some for me but he wouldn't approve of it so I did the only thing I could think of. It had to be done but I'm sure you guys would understand soon enough."

There was a long pause before I laughed hysterically. Jimmy was always a funny guy to me and this had to be the best one yet. I took some breaths after I was done hooting.
"Oh Jimmy, You know how to make a guy laugh." I grinned. I looked at him thinking that he would see it as a joke too. My heart sank when I saw that he wasn't laughing. And he definitely wasn't smiling either.
