Chapter One:

"Adam. i have to tell you something." I say scared to see how he will react. 

"yeah sure, anything Cass."

"my father. he told me one last thing before he....i... before he died..."

"yeah? what'd he tell you?" Adam asks, continuing to rifle through the drawers in his garage.

"there never was a curse." i spit out before i can stop myself from saying it. 

"what? really?" he says and i cant exactly read his expression. 

"yeah. he was angry about my mom and your dad. hes the one who made Jake sick." i whisper.

"but the elixr still worked?" he says questioningly.

"not exactly."

i see something vaguely flash through his eyes.

"it only half worked." i hear myself say.

"how? we forgot our feelings. isnt that what was supposed to happen?"

"my magic is strong Adam." i state, not wanting to say what im about to.
