"why didn't you tell me you haven't done your conscription?" she asks as soon as they walk in to the door taking off her jacket and hanging it on the rack.

hyungwon shrugs, "i don't know i really didn't think about it." he says honestly. "i just assumed you knew i didn't." he was not sure why she waited all this time to ask, after all they were in a car together for more than 30 minutes and she dropped the conversation after dinner. he walks over placing the bag full of containers his mom gave him filled with food. saying him and nari were both too skinny and needed to eat more. he knew that comment wouldn't affect him but nari on the other hand. he made sure to apologize for the comment even though nari brushed it off.

other than that he was happy how his mom reacted about his and nari's relationship. and how excited his mom was showing baby photos of him and his brother to nari. his mother even invited her over for christmas to help her prepare dinner. truthfully he could see why people say mother's know everything because there was never an instant click or interaction like this with micha. he always knew his mother was cordial with micha but seeing her with nari was a different experience.

"depending on where you decide to serve your time or they place you that's almost 2 years hyungwon," she says to him crossing her arms across her chest.

he sighs putting the items in the fridge, "i wasn't ready to do it then, so i waited. i honestly don't think i'm ready now but i have to do it some time next year since i'll be 29 in january."

nari looks down, "we just started seeing each other and what if you're not divorced by the time you leave."

"nari it's okay, we'll get there we still have the rest of this year. don't think negatively, baby." he states leaning on the counter.

she sighs, "it's going to be difficult. you being gone and me being here you know that."

"of course it's going to be hard but we can do it." he says as he walks over. "it's not like i'm going into actual war."

"don't say that! you never know the world is crazy," she scolds him.

he smiles down at her, "i already told you i'm giving everything to micha as long as it gets me divorced. that way you and i can focus on each other. when i'm away, you and i can see if we're truly meant to be together. see what works best for us, but that's in the future nari-"

"but that's not that far away," nari responds back. "hyungwon your birthday is in a couple months. christmas is coming up. we have to plan for things like this. especially life affecting one's."

"do you want to separate during the time, is that what you want?"

she shakes her head, "no, hyungwon. that's not what i want." she says. "i want to be together. we don't have to separate because we'll be physically separated." she lets out a deep breath. "i just feel we need to plan. what if your divorce isn't settled? what if mine isn't? what happens to your apartment? there's so much to talk about."

"nari if the divorces aren't final that's fine, we can still be together. the studio is on a rent basis. if i lose the studio it's ok, i can always find another one. the apartment, well i purchased it, and if you want you can stay here, i'll help pay the mortgage while i'm gone with the money i make. we will be fine." he says walking over holding her by her shoulders. "we are an unconventional couple right? we'll make unconventional decisions."

nari sighs, "you are always so chill. why are you always so calm?"

"because you panic. how can we work if we both are panicking?" he chuckles. "now can you relax? if you want we can sit down and plan everything. or we can just enjoy our time together and just live our life, nari it's not like you can't visit me or vice versa."
