Cassie's note: Warning: I write long A/Ns. This first chapter is a flashback. The next chapter will be the last day of school before Christmas Break.
Information you may care to know:
- Do NOT ask for any personal information. I will not be telling where I live, what school I go to, or anything like that.
- Cassandra Lucas is my pen name. No one will know my actual name.
- I do write about personal experiences. I'd say about 55% percent of this is true. Writing is my only way of letting my emotions out.
- If you're gonna be a hater, feel free to. I'd love to pray for you!
I hope you enjoy Perfectly Screwed Up!
"Cat, come here!" My mother calls to me. She calls me Cat, short for Catheryn.
"Coming, mom," I tell back. I stop reading and go downstairs to see my mom.
"We have some neighbors moving in tomorrow. Your father and I are going to help them. I'd like you and Eli and Eileen to meet Ms. Stephanie and Mr. Scott Bridges' son."
"Well Eli should be happy about another boy to play with."
"Just remember to be Christlike and compassionate."
"Okay."
"They'll be joining us to church on Sunday!" She called to me again as I ran up the steps. It was Wednesday. No Wednesday Night Church for me yet. You have to be in sixth grade, I'm in third.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"How was school today, sweetie?" My mom asks as I get in the car.
"Horrible. Mrs. Butler was in a bad mood all day and then Mrs. Faults made me sit during recess for sneezing while we prayed."
"I'm sorry Hun. Any new students?"
"One in the other class. His name is...," I had to think about it. I didn't get the chance to talk to him yet.
"Jordan?" My mother suggested.
"Yeah! How do you know?"
"He's moving in next door," she answered.
"Oh, I didn't get to talk to him at school."
"That's okay."
We got home, and I did my normal routine, hang my backpack up behind my door, take off my uniform, get a snack, do whatever I wanted until 4:30 and then started on homework. It today, it was a but different. I had to go over to Eileen and Eli's houses so we could meet Jordan.
I walked to the corner, Eileen's house first.
"Hello Catheryn! I'll get Eileen," her mother, Emily, answered the door.
"Hi Emily!"
She called for Eileen, and she came running down the stairs. Eileen had bright red hair, hazel eyes, and perfectly straight teeth.
"I have a new neighbor and my mom wants us to meet him," I explained to Eileen.
"Can I go mommy?" She pleaded.
"Of course, be back for dinner."
"Ok," and with that we were skipping off Eli's house.
We found him in his backyard on his trampoline. "Eli!" Eileen yelled to him.
"Oh hey Eileen, sup Cat."
"We're going to meet the Bridges' family. They just moved in."
"Okay, I'll come."
Eli's little brother, Micah who was 6, tagged along too. Eli's mom was pregnant with their third child, Kaleb.
My parents were already over there.
"Mom! We're here," I say walking up to her. I guess she was talking to Mrs. Bridges. She'a pregnant?
"Eli, Eileen, Catheryn, this is Mrs. Stephanie Bridges."
"Hello," Eli said.
"Nice to meet you," Eileen stated.
"Hi," I said.
"My son Jordan is in the backyard, if you'd like to meet him," she kindly told us.
"Ok, thanks," I tell her as we leave to find Jordan.
We go out the back door, their yard isn't tiny, but not as big as mine.
"There he is," Eileen said pointing to a boy walking next to his father and mine. He was pretty tall, brown hair, glasses, normal 8-year-old boy.
My dad pointed to us and waved, the boy came running towards us. As he got closet I could tell how tall he really was. He was a *tall* boy.
"I'm Jordan," he introduced himself.
"Hey, I'm Eli."
"My name is Eileen."
I wasn't looking directly at his eyes when Eli and Eileen were talking, but when I introduced myself, "I'm Catheryn," I held out my hand for him to shake. Our eyes mets and something happened in me. I'm not sure what it was, but it was different. Special.
"Nice to meet you, Eli, Eileen, and Catheryn."
"Nice to meet you too," we all said.
~Jordans POV~
"I'm Catheryn," the blonde said. She was holding out her hand, I shook it. But something happened with us. I felt something like nothing else, and I got cold chills when our skin touched.
"Nice to meet you, Eli, Eileen, and Catheryn."
"Nice to meet you too," they all replied.
*Later that day; still in Jordan's POV*
"What time is it?" Eileen asks us.
"6:00," I answer.
"Aw, I have to go to dinner. Nice meeting you Jordan. I've had a great time," the redhead says to me.
"We'll walk you home," Eli and Catheryn say.
"Bye Eli. See ya Eileen. Good bye Catheryn," I wave as they leave.
"Call me Cat," Catheryn tells me as she closes the gate.
