Chapter 20

"Hehe...Come on Jimmy, This is got to be a prank. I'm sure what I saw was fake. I'm sure Danny is at home waiting for us right? Timmy and Y/n are with him right now...waiting for...I mean he's...he can't be..."
Spongebob's nervous laughter slowly turns to stutter dread as Jimmy walks closer to him with the syringe.
He stopped just a couple of inches from his face.
Spongebob looked at Jimmy with pleading eyes as water began to form in his eyes. Jimmy's face was devoid of any kind of emotions. He stared at the timid sponge with pin-pricked pupils.
"Jimmy...Please...?"
"Sorry, but I'm doing this in the name of science and to stop a disaster from happening."
"Wait! Ack!"
Jimmy injected him with the serum as Spongebob struggled to free himself.

Jimmy's POV
I slowly stepped back, taking the syringe out of the test subject and waiting. At first, I was disappointed to see that nothing happened.
"Phew for a second there I thought-Huh?"
Suddenly ectoplasm began to ooze from his holes, then his eyes. I watched in exuberance as Spongebob began to shake violently. This was a discovery of a lifetime.
"No Please, Jimmy! I don't want to die! I'm sorry I couldn't save you, Danny! I wish I had the chance to say how much I lo-" 
His pleading and crying were soon silenced as his mouth started leaking a green substance onto his clothes. He only managed to gurgle scream but it served no purpose. The effects started to take its toll as more and more filled his eyes and mouth, His trembling soon slowed to twitching before going limp. I marveled at the event and my curiosity was soon validated.
"Fascinating," I said, taking out my notebook and pen to write down notes of my discovery.
"I will definitely look into this when I have the time, but I must complete what I was set to do, I'll have to clean up this mess later."
I looked up at the sponge's limp body as droplets of ectoplasm pooled onto the floor. I continued to stare at him thinking to myself, then an idea flew into my mind.
"Perhaps you can still be useful to me after all."

Y/n eyes started to open as she was lying on a cold tile floor. She got up to be met with the same results as before. Devoid of color, a big blood-red X was written on it with a rusted handle. She sighed, turning around to find a long dimly lighted hallway. Seeing no other option, she moved forward hearing the sound of her own footsteps and the doors passing her by. She felt alone and she wanted to find some source of life in this desolate place. She continued walking, remembering the locked doors and the arrow that once guided her. It was now pointing the other way. She moved onward hoping to find what she was looking for. Sure enough, at the end of the hallway stood a yellow door. She gulped, reaching for the handle to turn it. Surprisingly it opened by itself revealing a dark room. When she entered the door slammed shut behind her, locking her inside a dark room. The lights flickered on to reveal what she stumbled into. In front of her hung a teen with blonde hair with freckles along his cheeks. He was wearing a white shirt with a red tie and below, brown shorts with a black belt. Two buck teeth can be shown from his upper lip.

The days have seemed to be getting dimmer for Y/n and Timmy as it turns out that Spongbob hasn't returned for quite some time. They both continued their search for their lost companions, looking for any source or clues of their whereabouts. They even decided to go visit the park once again hoping that something might turn up. Nothing. The next day they tried again. Still no luck. Each time they continued searching only ending up with the same result. When they got home they found out that Scarlett had gone missing too. Y/n told Timmy that they should stick together no matter what happens. Every night Y/n would ask Timmy to accompany her in her room. Timmy reluctantly agreed and got in bed with her. 

Timmy's POV
"Timmy? Are you still awake?" Y/n asked me, hoping that I would still be there. I didn't answer. Y/n continued despite me not being willing to answer.
"Yeah, I can't sleep either."
There was a long pause.
"Y'know, Back home I'm always by myself and I thought I would never find any friends. But then all of a sudden I met you guys."
I remembered that time when Jimmy announced that he had located another world. The portal opened and a girl with H/C and E/C wearing blue jeans with an F/C T-Shirt came out.
"Ever since I met you guys I thought I wouldn't fit in as much. Jimmy can create amazing inventions, Danny can use his ghost powers, you have your fairies to grant your every wish and Spongebob...Well, y'know a sponge. But you all accepted me as part of your group and you even made me feel at home. every time I couldn't sleep at night or had a bad dream. I would talk to Danny. Every time I get depressed or sad, You and Spongebob would be there to cheer me up. And Jimmy, Well, I am amazed at his inventions but he would tell me stories of how you all met and worked together to save your worlds." She started sniffling. "I hope they are ok wherever they are."
With that, she covered herself in her F/C blanket and drifted off to sleep. As much as I hated it, I slipped off the bed and snuck out to find the robotic dog. I figured it would be in Jimmy's lab so I went downstairs.
"Goddard, are you here boy?" I whispered. 'Bark Bark!' It came running up to me. I shushed it and bent down to face it.
"Ok boy, we are going out to find them but I'm gonna need your help. Are you with me?"
'Bark!'
"I'll take that as a yes."
