I wake up in the morning to notice that Danny was no longer in bed. Without looking at the clock, I notice it was 6:00 am!
Oh shit I am going to be late!
New York Police Department
6:30 am
I walk in the office, scoping out my surroundings. No one was there to be seen. Completely unaware, I grab a text book, walking around the office. Seeing a suspiciously lit door, I walk towards it. Heistantly reaching for the handle, I twist it.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY OFFICER SCOTT!" everyone exclaimed. I dropped my text book, my signature what the fuck look coming onto my face.
The commissioner was standing in the back with a smile and a party horn. But then my eyes see Danny, who's smiling while clapping his hands.
"Happy Birthday." He smiled.
I nodded, playing it off cool.
Then it hit me...
Was last night for...
I blushed instantly, covering my face with my open palm.
"T-Thank you everyone, you didn't have to do this.." I became even more flustered. Detective Baez comes with a small black bag, with little blue decorative streamers hanging off the handle. I take it with a nod, holding it in my right hand.
"Happy Birthday C, I hope it's a memorable one." she smiles.
I nod once more, smiling.
"Thank you detective."
I walk out, seeing the Sargeant.
"You must be Cassie (Y/N)." He stuck his hand out.
Without thinking, I grab it, shaking it.
"It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Sargeant Renzulli."
"on behalf of the police commissioner, we have decided to nominate you to a detective. Congratulations, Miss Scott." He nodded, a smile staying on his face.
I turn, seeing Danny and Frank standing next to each other, conversating.
... Oh Danny is going to be in for it.
"That's not all." He smiled.
Out came Jeremy, still emotionless.
"he got a promotion to detective too."
My heartbeat was swapped up to my throat. I could not believe what I was hearing. But my breathing was halted as Sargeant Renzulli speaks out to everyone in the department.
