We'll see the light again

CHAPTER 14

''I hate it when you do that''

          He sighs and gives me the ID card. I smile. 

''Thank you''

          I send him a flying kiss. It's probably weird for others but it's ok for us. It's just what we do. I leave the cafeteria with a big smile playing on my lips. 

DEREK'S POV

          I watch as Kate leaves the cafeteria with a smile. 

''You should just apologise''

          Says Astrid.

''I won't apologise for trying to protect her'' ''Anyways, what's up with her?''

''Haven't you heard?''

          She asks taking a bite from her sandwitch. 

''They found Ben''

''What?'' ''He's here?''

''Yes, but apparently he's brainwashed or something''

          She continues eating. But then she realises something.

''Oh God...''

''What?''

''That's where she's going''

          We get up and run to where they are hiding him. This is very dangerous and she's not supposed to be there. If he's brainwashed who knows what he could do to her. So, with shaking legs and acking heart i run there, to stop her. 

MEANWHILE

KATELYN'S POV

          I scan the ID card and get in the room. Once again his cold eyes are looking at me. It's taking a lot for me to not cry. I have to pull myself together. I have to stay strong for the both of us. 

''Hi!''

          But of course, he doesn't unswer. 

''Those chanes must be uncomfortable''

          I unchane one of his hands and kneel in front of him. 

''I'm sorry, that's all i can do for now''

          There's a strand of hair falling on his eyes. I raise my hand to brush it away. I guess he thought i was going to hurt him because he grabs my neck with his free hand. He starts choking me. 

''No, please''

          But he doesn't let me go, he just tightens his grip. Until i can't breath anymore and i lose conciousnes. 

DEREK'S POV

          Just as we get there Kate is already laying on the ground unconcious. I try to scan my ID but it's not working. 

''Damn it''

''There has to be another way to open the door''

          I decide to move further down the hall. 

''Derek, where are you going?''

          I ignore her. To my luck there is a guard at the end of the hall. His ID could help. 

''Hey man, i need your ID card''

''What?''

          It doesn't look like he's going to give it. So, i punch him in the face and grab the ID. There's no time. I go back to the door and scan the ID. It works. 

''Thank God''

         Astrid says as we run in the room. I run to Ben and chain him back to the ground. Meanwhile Astrid runs to Kate and tries to wake her up. 

''She's not waking up''

          She yells completely panicked. 

''We have to take her to the medical wing''

          And that's what we do.
