Chapter 20

    It had been about a month since the Demi fiasco.

Niall answered in an interview that him and Demi were going to be taking a break from the little dates. They jumped into something too soon and it was hard for them to keep in contact across the country.

So Niall was single.

Which meant the two of us could be together, right?

Not exactly.

That would be pretty suspicious.

So we’ve been keeping our distance when it comes to those things. Trying not to show too much feeling because at the moment, it will just lead to heartache

    In that time I had gone back to visit my parents in Mullingar for 2 weeks, and the boys continued working on the album and more publicity things.

But everything with Niall was getting to me a tad, but he just reassured me to wait. Things will work.

But there is a slight part of me that couldn’t believe that.

    I was currently in the car with Harry, on the way to radio 1 breakfast show. He was going to go visit Nick Grimshaw and I chose to tag along. Nick seemed like a pretty funny guy and I sort of listened to his show religiously. Not like I would ever tell anyone that.

    “Just hang around while I go pick something up down the hall. Everyone is really kind here!” Harry encouraged me as we entered the radio 1 studio.

I watched him walk down the hall before I made my turn to find Grimmy.

I scanned down the hall and hummed suspense music like an idiot. This was where I found entertainment.

Oh Keely…

Then suddenly, I found it. The booth.

There he was, being his hilarious self in there.

I sort of froze out there, in front of the glass window, where he could clearly see me.

When we locked eyes, he tilted his head and made a funny face, then signaled me to come in

After a brief moment of staring blankly, I awkwardly made my way inside the booth.

    “Hey everyone my friend Keely Just came in to join the party. Take it away Keely!” Nick said putting the headphones and mic onto me without hesitation.

“You know my name.” I accidentally blurted out.

“I mean… hey there people who appreciate humor and good music. I’m Keely. And I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m sort of silently fangirling that Grimmy called me his friend.” I began as I quickly skimmed through the music selections.

“Here’s one of my favorites, good morning and go save a life or fall in love!” I rambled as I played “Somewhere only we know” by Keane.

The music played and I could feel my cheeks getting red at that slight adrenaline rush. Nick just laughed.

“We haven’t properly met, my name is Nick, nice to meet you Keely.” He said with his outstretched hand to mine.

I shook it and let out a smile.

“I only saw you at the Little Things premiere. That moment with you and Niall chocked me up and tears were streaming.” He continued on, making me giggle.

“Ha. That was a good day.” I managed to let out.

He then turned his back to me to check on the music, as I stood there watching.
