Keely’s POV

    ”Keely…”

I kept my eyes closed as I listened to “Blown Away” by Carrie Underwood. I always loved her. Even though I wasn’t much of a country fan.

    ”Keely…”

“Till there’s nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterday” Carrie sang into my ears.

I then felt a tap on my shoulder.

“Excuse me, Miss Mahone. But they’re ready to see you now!” The lady said to me. I must not had been able to hear her before.

I smiled at her before getting up out of the waiting room seat, proceeding down the hall she pointed down.

I walked through the open doorway to see two men I was expecting to see.

“Hello Keely, it’s awesome to finally meet you!” One said, while the other smiled intimidatingly at me and nodded.

“Same to the two of you.” I responded.

“So, we would love to hear you sing for us. What did you prepare?” The same one asked.

“California King Bed, by Rihanna.” I gave them a smile before I went to the piano to accompany my self.

Chest to chest

Nose to nose

Palm to palm

We were always just that close

I sang. I knew I would get emotional while I sang, and there was nothing I could do about it.

In this California king bed

We’re ten thousand miles apart

I’ve been California wishing on these stars

For your heart for me

My California king

My voice grew stronger..

So, how come when I reach out my fingers

It seems like more than distance between us

I thought about all the bad things. The bad day. And how there was nothing I could, or should do.

Just when I felt like giving up on us

You turned around and gave me one last touch

That made everything feel better

And even then my eyes got wetter

So confused wanna ask you if you love me

But I don’t wanna seem so weak

Maybe I’ve been California dreaming

I probably sang, the best I have in a long time. And I began to cry, and decided to stop to wipe the tears away.

“I’m sorry.” I said to the men as my palms were against my warm and depressed cheeks.

“No no. That was amazing.” The one man, doing all the talking, spoke again.

I smiled as I took away the last drop of a cry.

“Were you possibly thinking of someone or something while you were singing that?” He asked me curiously, speaking with hand movement.

I looked down distantly.. nervous.
