I've read about a time when people could walk around
And be evil
And be good
But now we can't be anything but there
We're marionettes hanging on dead strings, waiting for a handless puppeteer
And sometimes our strings snap and we fall and our bones break, our limbs shatter, we crumple, we die
But then these glass gods revive us
They can't get enough of our suffering
They kill us again and again, only to bring us back and restart this vicious cycleWe're human:
Greedy, selfish, going against a word, forgetting promises made seconds ago, rising against the people who raised us
Born Homo sapien, we can't be anything else
Not Angels, and not Devils
So let us err together
For if I err alone, I am called a heathen
But if we err together, we are called brave
So let us err togetherDivided we stand and united we fall
Risen from the sweat of our great grandfathers and the blood of great grandmothers never met, we are the deceivers
Nobly raised by immoral procedures
Subtly put down through kind remarks
Even the good are damned
Even the good are imperfect
Even the good are human
