Chapter 1

"How was your weekend Gaby" her best friend Jessica asked.

"It was ok I guess" I muttered.

"Well are you still coming over" Jessica said.

"I'm still recovering from what happened with drag queen over there" I said glancing at Aurora.

"Hello Jessica, I see your still talking to this loser" Aurora said like if she "felt" bad.

"Well Gabriella Anderson you should really get into something nicer" she remarked.

"Like I give a damn" I muttered under my breath.

"You should this Friday is spring formal" she said walking away.

"I just want to kill her" I said with clenched teeth.

"Calm down ms. Exaggerative" Jessica laughed at her own remark.

"Well I got to go " I told Jessica giving her a hug. "See you later" she said as we embraced letting go. I walked down the narrow hallway walking towards my locker. Aurora was leaning against the neighboring locker talking to her dumb friend. She glanced at me trying not to grin. A cold shiver went down my spine as she glanced.

I twisted my locker left then right then left. Then I pulled the knob up. " Gaby don't open it" Jake shouted from across the hall. Time froze as I pulled the locker door Aurora pulled out her phone and started recording. I then felt the ice cold water fall from the bucket pouring down my casual clothes. "ha ha ha" laughs came from all around the hall way.

Time suddenly continued normally. My face turned red from embaressment and I ran out of the hall. I could still hear distant laughing and could feel their eyes on me as I ran away sobbing. I ran to the back of the school climbing the ladders to get on the other side of the fence. Then Liam Aurora's ex boyfriend asked what I was doing? "I'm leaving" I said hoping he would try to stop me.

"No don't go" he said with sympathy. "Do you not see me covered in water"? "No all I see is a beautiful girl trying to get away from school. I felt butterflies in my stomach.
"Did you call me beautiful" I asked wondering if it was just sincere or he was a player. "Yea I did" he said. I could tell he felt awkward so I didn't look at him.

"Well come on" he said leaving out his hand so I could come down.

I declined saying I had no clothes . "Well I'm going with you" he said with a tone so matter I fact I didn't deny. He justified what we were doing was lunch break since the bell was going to dismiss everyone to lunch in a minute. In about ten minutes of walking we reached my house.

"Wow" he said looking astonished.

"It was my grandad's he left it to me in his will" I responded.

"Do you live by yourself"?

"Yea"

"Oh"

Minutes later we were in my room as I grabbed clothes and walked to my walk-in closet. He sat in my bed looking at a photo of my family. I came out with shorts and a plain white tee. He smiled at me and said "you ready to go back". "I guess" I frowned. "Alright fine we don't have to go" he said as he got up and turned on the television.

"Back to you phil" the weather girl said.

"Please be informed that there is a man that is kidnapping children and teenagers"

"We do not have much information besides the fact that he has a white van".

Changing the channel Liam said " it's too depressing".

"Right" I agreed .

As he turned to me "do you want to go to spring formal with me"?

" Sure " I said with a smile.

The next morning my alarm woke me up. I quickly ran to the bathroom with my clothes in one hand and towel in the other. I turned the water knobs letting the warm water go down my back as I shampooed my hair. I got out and dried. I brushed my teeth and went to the kitchen after changing realizing how clean it was because Liam cleaned after cooking for us.

I walked to school and everyone in the hall stared at me whispering. I stopped, waiting for Jessica at her locker. She didn't come and the late bell rang. I sat in math class looking at the teacher like I was paying attention but I couldn't stop thinking Jessica is never absent.

The bell rang and everyone walked to their lockers. I looked at Aurora but she was too worried about something. My locker was still partially open because of yesterday. I pulled my locker but it was jammed. I pulled as hard as possible and it opened except there was a string attached and paint chunks flew on my shirt. It kind of had a cool pattern.

"Loser" Aurora said under her breath making everyone laughed.

I smiled not caring what anyone said but, I was upset. I couldn't let them know but, as soon as Aurora turned her back to me I had my chance. I jumped her back grabbing her by her hair. She dropped trying to turn but, I didn't let her I banging her against the floor. Her friend tried to pull me off but, I hit Aurora after six years of embaressment.

"Ms. Anderson stop now" the principal shouted coming through the crowd of people watching me beat her. He then grabbed my arm pulling me but, I stomped her back.
She got up and pushed the principal making him fall to his ass. She grabbed me by my hair as I punched her. She pinned me down slapping me so hard that my head began to throb. "That's enough" the principal said grabbing Aurora.

There was Jessica staring at me "how could you"?

"How could I what" I said still angry.

"You beat that poor girl" Jessica said walking away.

"No she- I " she was gone.

In the principals office she was just bruised holding a ice pack against her face.
Gabriella you are suspended. Starting Monday next week. The bell rang and I got my backpack going outside seeing Aurora holding her ice pack hugging Liam. I stormed out of the school and sat outside on a bench.

Jake came and sat next to me wearing ripped jeans and a white tee. "I'm glad you beat her" he said casually. "Well not everyone is, she is such a teachers pet".

"That's why she didn't get In trouble" jake asked confused.

"Exactly" I said.

Then Aurora walked through a street I've never been on but, it lead to my house.
I walked after her hoping to hit her again but a white van came to stop near her.
A man came out in a hood talking to her . I ran as fast I could towards her but, my legs began to burn.
